I’ve been a Mooney supporter. However if we can’t win a couple of games in March this year, with this experienced and exceptional team, then it is time to blow it up. Start fresh. Give it the rest of the season, but this is it. If we can’t win with these guys we need to change the leadership.

Careful…we may win a couple of CBI or NIT games. Or maybe an A10 tourney game or two (I can’t see is getting the double bye). We’re just slightly past the “NCAA at least once for each player” marker that was set.
I’ve always felt that one should look at the body of work, not game to game. But the games aren’t so good, and the body of work just gets more deficient year over year.
Amazing it has taken some so long to see the absolute ineptitude of this coach. With that said… better late than never.
If CM can’t make the tournament this year with this group of players, he will literally never make it again. Perhaps he’ll pull a rabbit out of the hat but presuming he doesn’t, the only option Hardt will have is to move on.

George Mason sucked last year, fired its coach, then lost basically its four best players to transfer, hired a new coach, brought in a ton of new guys and then went to Maryland and beat the same team our greatest team ever just lost to tonight.
I’ve long thought that some of you are unrealistic in your aspirations for Spider hoops, given our size and academic focus. I’ll take the academics over athletics all day every day. It’s a tall ask to expect UR hoops to be be nationally relevant every single year. But I don’t think it’s too much to expect that we should be frequently relevant. We haven’t been relevant for far too long.
UVa has an academic focus and won a national championship a few years ago. I know that's not a reasonable goal for us, but there's ZERO excuse to miss the tournament year after year.

I believe many in our fan base feel the same way. But do you really think letting in 2 or 3 marginally academic kids each year will hurt our academic standing?
Trust me, I want our athletes to do well academically, but what is wrong with the picture when our athletes have a higher GPA than our non-athletes? Maybe the reason we're not rated higher academically is the quality of the non-athletes we are admitting. How easy is it to make Dean's list when over half of your football team makes it?
The academic crutch is yet another one that the truther crowd uses to help prop Mooney. 80s fan, who has PQ on his contact list, and has assured us this is no longer an issue. So cross that one off.
