Nick!

yeah, love this kid too. what great repeatable form! beautiful stroke.
I'll say it now before he even gets started. the UR records for 3 pointers are in jeopardy.

Seems like a great kid. So well spoken for his age, if he doesn't play pro ball the journalism route seems like one he can excel in. No doubt that he will be a great representative for the school. While he may not be a super explosive athlete, he will compensate with his bball IQ, and love of the game. Like the shooter :)

I learned two things from this:
1. Nick looks like he's physically ready to step in and play major minutes this year.
2. UR offers courses and a degree in journalism.

I took JOUR 200 as a gen ed requirement in what is quickly becoming a long time ago.

Dan Petty of the Denver Post was part of a team that won the Pulitzer for its coverage of the Aurora theater shooting a few years ago. He graduated in the late 2000s.

23, I laughed when watching that. pull up jumpers from 25'? step backs from 21'?
I mean, the defender knows he's a shooter but it's unfathomable that you have to guard out that far in high school. unreal.

Ah, cool. Former track/XC guy...good thing we don't want guys like that in our school anymore.

What's the matter Willy, trouble sleeping?

Yes, he is really deep on some of those. H.S. kids in general I think have been watching Steph and shoot from anywhere now, but Nick's range is pretty much over 1/2 court it appears. Loved the mention of watching Darien, KA and Gonzo and influence on him.

I see these videos of Nick, Monte, and Grant and I think wow, these guys aren't afraid to drive the ball, make moves, or pull up from long range. I hope that Mooney's Princeton offense doesn't prevent them from being aggressive or doing what they've done in the past. As a coach, you have to adjust your offense scheme to the personnel you have. With the talent we have currently have and coming in, I'd be more open to seeing a transition where we play more in the paint or 1 v 1 more

While Mooney can probably be criticized for his unwillingness to change his defense, he has shown a great willingness to allow his offense to morph based upon the athletes we have.

If you can remember his first season or two, the pace was painfully slow and deliberate, out of necessity of keeping games close. As better athletes and players have come on board, the "princeton" ideas have remained, but the play on court is vastly different.

Sherod has unlimited range. He regularly takes and makes shots from beyond NBA range. He is going to real tough to guard.
