New Hampshire vs. Richmond In-game Thread

UnH isn't Elon or Albany. They are still a good team. We didn't play great and got beat because of it. I didn't think we would end up 10-1 anyway.

tough trip started with the transportation issues -- time to regroup, I hope we get healthy before we go to VU next week

Pretty frustrating loss considering the coaching staff made blunder after blunder all game. On side kick, not sticking with the run game, giving UNH receivers huge cushions all game. Just rough from a coaching perspective today.

2 people lost that game for the spiders.... Kyle lauletta and Charlie Fisher. Horrible decisions all day by the qb and never should have let him pass as much after half time and green just gashing them.

Tough loss. Agree that we should have kept giving Green the ball at the end. The way I see it, it is like this. If we win out, we will have a first round bye. If we win 1 of next 2, we will confidently be in the playoffs. Lose next two games, and an at-large playoff birth is a toss-up.

Again, to remain positive, we lost by 5 points with multiple turnovers, some questionable calls and not nearly our best game. We fought hard, never gave up, and we will be back next week to battle Villanova. We need to work on cleaning up the mistakes and we should be fine. Even though we are banged up, we have lots of talent and heart.

I recall how down we were in 08 when the Pukes nipped us at the end--that team showed what they were made of, time for this team to regroup and do the same thing. If this team corrects the mistakes of today and goes deep, we'll thank the wildcats and their questionable calls

Irony is, if New Hampshire wins their last two games against two cupcakes, and we lose our last two games against two tough teams, they will be in the playoffs and we won't. That would make me very sad

We did not play well and the three man rush the excessive DB cushions on coverage and our inability to handle their two linebacker up the middle rush were the three keys to losing. BUT the wave off of the interference call was the worse of a number of bad calls. If the CAA doesn't suspend those idiots we've got a bigger problem. It's obvious why UNH doesn't lose home games but very so/so on the road.

That no call on the pass interference was terrible. It cost us the play, the down, field position, and the game. Although, IMHO we should have run the ball there.

UR had the better team, UNH had the veteran coach. That was the difference. Still, two games left. It's up to our coaching staff and the players, what they do with this season. No one has lost less than 1 game, everything is still possible.

Has anybody seen an interference call waived off because of a tip ball by the d back called for interference?

Have you checked the average age/experience of our coaches lately?

New Hampshire is to Richmond as William & Mary is to New Hampshire.
Bottom line is that we have significant deficiencies on our special teams(kicking, tackling and general execution, etc), our soft pass coverage in critical 3rd down situations is inexplicable and our coaching staff is not as brilliant as they think they are.

Not the coaches fault our QB went color blind on us and threw four interceptions. No way any coach can overcome that.

Refs looking at promotion to ACC. They were particularly terrible today.

We still had our chances to win despite all the turnovers. Maybe it'll motivate us or maybe it's the wheels falling off the bus.

The guys from NBCSN were shocked that deAndre wasn't called for holding Diggs coming off the line and then they were doubly shocked that refs then missed the deAndre interference call when he clearly bumped into facing and holding Diggs in the end zone and wasn't playing the ball. The refs concluded that the ball was 1st deflected prior to interfering with Diggs was a typically favorable UNH bogus call.Stopped our mojo in our tracks.

I thought the refs gave UNH plenty of leeway the whole game, but I feel like they get alot of room every time we play them.

Just another Danny Rocco dud when his team is in control of its destiny. Happened many times at Liberty.

Picking up that pass interference flag, with that explanation, tells me the officials don't even know the rule.

Other obvious infractions not called including UNH tight end pushing off defender on touchdown catch, late hit out of bounds, contact with punt returner on fair catch, clothes line/face mask tackle on Green (called but reversed). Also the phantom holding call.
I hope we at least make a formal complaint about the officiating.

My understanding is the tip had to be away from the play, eg at the line, or and LB, etc
I watched the replay three times. The pass was clearly not touched by anyone other than the guy covering Diggs. The officials had it right when they threw the flag. Was this not reviewable? I can't believe that if they reviewed it they could have reversed the call.
