Overtime. Maryland is very good offensively. We had at least 2 unforced turnovers in last quarter that lead to quick goals by the Terps

Maryland wins in 2nd overtime. Another unforced turnover lead to their goal. Only weakness for us were the unforced turnovers. 17-14 in faceoffs. Seemed like more than that but much improved.

That was definitely a frustrating loss. I know that Maryland is a really good team, but that doesn't mean you commit a bunch of unforced turnovers to just hand them possessions. Good teams take advantage of those, and Maryland did in this case.

momentum turned in 4Q when officials stopped game during a fastbreak for Spiders to call foul on Maryland after a couple violent hits resulting in at least one spider losing his helmet. We clearly had possession, dont understand why play was stopped---but at that point Maryland tightened up defensively and we had a couple untimely turnovers/shot clock violations.
Great game, great effort, just came up a little short.

Heartbreaking - Tough to lose - have to give Maryland credit for taking advantage of our unforced turnovers. Lacrosse a game of momentum and we lost that in fourth quarter. Started strong but couldn't hang on. No reason not to be optimistic that we can play with anybody. Need to close the door on this one and move on.

Obviously the first game of the season and a high ranked opponent so positive Spiders were definitely amped up for this one. Hopefully they don't lose focus and have a big letdown against Marist on Friday.
