Watching 20 years of CM’s defense tells me I don’t need to listen to his explanation of difficulties of playing against St J’s offense. All one has to do is watch games on tv or live, and the weaknesses on defense are obvious and glaring. And it’ll never change until we have a new coach.

I see no reason not to go back to straight man defense. Maybe you can de-risk some of this teams lack of athleticism with a switching/zone setup but with really small guards you’re just introducing a size/matchup risk.

Right Mr T, we went straight man last year at one point and we did much better. Pressing lightly is his standard change of menu.

We often start pressing way too late for it to make a difference.

I can understand not wanting to expose your defense but if you’re down 15-20 in the second half you have to start trying to create turnovers.
