Agree about Dusan. He is what is known as a "ball stopper". He seems to play hard, and can score it at times, but he is not going to swing the ball quickly. For being such a "fluid" offense supposedly, we don't pop the ball around. Watching other college games, it seems everyone moves it much quicker than our team?

You never know, but Walz seems like a lifer - seems loyal and could see him not wanting to start over. And maybe the other school doesn't have easy access to a golf course. But yes if an SEC school thinks he could help, doesn't seem like 80s and PQ would pony up.

Dusan is very efficient when he can get to the line. He is shooting like 90% for free throws. He is not efficient when he is taking 3s, like many on the team this year.

Even though we did not win, I was happy to see the number of 3fg attempts drop.

and I want to give credit to the guards. we know Tyne and B Artis have had some struggles offensively. they were both very good last night on that end.

I just wish Tyne would dribble less and pass more, but biggest of all is stop dribbling to the corners or sidelines and getting trapped. I think Ced had the same problem and then simply learned to reverse his dribble then create a better opportunity for an open pass or shot or drive.

we've gone away from a straight man defense. we're switching, or handing off on the perimeter with or without screens. it's almost a zone, but it's still man. and it's back to the old problem we had on defense, where we need smart guys to play together a long time to get it. there are too many communications mistakes being made on the switches. the problem is we're unlikely to have a core playing together for 3 years to perfect it.

This is absolutely mind-boggling to me. It seems pretty plain to me that we are not great playing this defense for any number of reasons. Last year we largely played straight man with guards who weren’t any bigger, why switch back to this?

I guess we’re perhaps less athletic this season but man, it is just painful watching the defense.
