After listening to the interviews with Mooney, ShawnDre and Terry, I am again attempting to curb my enthusiasm about Marshall. Though each was asked specifically about him, they were all very high on his shooting ability, and rebounding. With the passing ability of Cline and Terry, it would seem that Wood would have much opportunity to get easy baskets as well. I have seen Mooney mention him as a strong rebounder a couple times now. Not quite sure where the minutes will come from, but it seems that he has size and skill set to play all three front court positions. He didn't set the world on fire at Tech, but he did get two years of experience playing in the ACC. In his defense, the coaching situation was not the greatest during his time in Hokieland either. It would seem that this is an ideal situation with our offense and system for Marshall to shine. I really liked his game coming out of high school and pretty sure Beilein offered him at Michigan. Lot of potential. Hopefully this is the situation he needs to put it all together. Not sure his ball handling ability? I know Terry's is good for his size. Might we see some front court time with TA, Cline and Marshall on the court together?

Bingo! OSC

We won't know how good he will be until he steps onto the court and plays some games for us. Cline put up amazing numbers at Niagara his freshman year and continued to do so here. Wood put up mediocre numbers at Virginia Tech, maybe he will do better here. I hope our system works better for him than whatever was happening at Virginia Tech.

more than one kid has transferred, sit to mature an additional year, and ended up having a better career than he had enjoyed at his first school

Will be very interesting to see where he fits in on this team. With the unknown around back court space opposite ShawnDre, it would be very nice if Marshall is a legit scoring threat from distance and consistent scorer. If so, I think that makes it much easier to have Trey or Deion on the court with MW, to provide their defense and toughness. And I think his rebounding will be critical.
