Only off by a decimal point shift.Spiders open up as -2.5 favorite
That's awesome. I started the cheer. So glad it could be heard on TV.Love hearing the “We are UR” chants on TV as we finish a dominating win against a P5 team in the NCAA tournament. I have such an immense feeling of pride for my beloved university. This is why sports matter. Way to represent UR so well ladies! What a moment for us and setting up a massive game against the #1 team in the country on Sunday on national television. This is what it’s all about!
Good stuff Mr. The Spider section could be seen well on TV. Not to derail too much, but we're there any fans saying things like Aaron is great!, I wish we could get a new coach on the men's side? That's awesome. I started the cheer. So glad it could be heard on TV.
Not much talk of men's hoops that I heard. Someone mentioned that they hope the men can get back to the tourny soon. Each of us were in Buffalo 3 years ago so we shared stories of our trips.Good stuff Mr. The Spider section could be seen well on TV. I wasn’t in the Richmond section behind the bench but was the sole Spider fan cheering from across the other side of the court. I think I may have been the only one not in that section from my glances around. I ran into a lot of Spiders pre/post-game and said hello, so there’s a chance we crossed paths. Not much talk of men's hoops that I heard. The kids and I were talking about if Mooney and Roussell were given same players/talent and played each other one side would win by 50. No mention of which side would win in that scenario. 😉
Totally - lots of hot air balloons near where I live and every one reminds me of the untimely death of Ginny Doyle. Easy to imagine how happy she would be today...................and Natalie Lewis would be happy as well.............Very happy to be a supporter of this program 9and baseball too). It feels as if my money is being used properly. Time to shock the women's basketball world.
We have come so far from that horrible Saturday morning 11 years ago.
Not if you live on the west coast!Ugh, Sunday game time is too late for adults with real jobs. But I hope the school puts on a great watch party for the students.

Also, Kevin Hallock made a point to come over and speak with me. Appreciated the kind gesture. I will ask him about what efforts can be made to keep Aaron when I speak with him on Sunday.
Seeding does matter. Big difference between 1 seeds and 2 or 3 seeds in women's hoops. So happy to get the dominant win over GaTech and a chance at the #1 seed, though. Let's go get it, Spiders!
Great video, and great calls from Blaine McCormick. Really glad we’ve connected with him to do some of the broadcasts that Bob can’t. He’s super talented and would be an excellent full-time voice for us when the time comes, although I expect he’ll have many higher level opportunities.

Is that the last one for both men and women?Wonder when we last had a player go for 30 and 15. The game notes ahead of last night listed the last 20/15 game, and that was Okoro a decade ago when she went for 27 and 15.
Wood I was thinking about that the other day. What a tragic day in UR history.Very happy to be a supporter of this program 9and baseball too). It feels as if my money is being used properly. Time to shock the women's basketball world.

I really liked McCormick and his enthusiasm.can u fill me in on who he is. I thought Robert Fish did a lot of the SpiderTV women's games.
His primary gig is as color guy for the Flying Squirrels. Has been there a few seasons now. Really good broadcaster.can u fill me in on who he is. I thought Robert Fish did a lot of the SpiderTV women's games.

Maybe I'll see you tomorrow. I'm the one with the twin boys, age 11. Did you come out to the pre-game event at Broxton Brewery on Friday?I wasn’t in the Richmond section behind the bench but was the sole Spider fan cheering from across the other side of the court. I think he could coach both teams. Small scheduling issues, but we could work it out. 😉I'm wondering if male women's coaches ever transition to Men's basketball? Seems like once you become a women's coach you're stuck there forever.
Just dreaming out loud...
Not complaining. Let's just take down ucla! Just sayin' I think the 1 seeds are a level higher than the 2s or 3s in women's hoops. Would have been very happy, for instance, to take the 7 seed from Michigan State, and play Harvard and then NC State. Note: GaTech's last loss before us was to #2 seed NC State by 1 point.I disagree a bit. As far as 8/9, 10, or 11. Maybe some years, but not hurting us here. & yeah seeding does matter that's why u should always be trying for highest seed possible.
An 11 seed wasn't even in question (only ignorantly to very few media/posters) so no need to consider this year. I posted pre-selection we were more likley as 8/9 than 11. And if u r gaming it to be a 11 seed that's dumb because those r bubble teams and u r putting yourself at risk.
we r +14.5 vs. UCLA. A longshot for sure but it's not crazy high. Look at 10 seed Oregon. +14.5 vs Duke. 9 seed IU is +22.5 vs South Carolina. Louisville 10 seed is +12.5 vs TCU. We can look at others tomorrow. I guarantee we'd be a bigger dog vs. UConn.
The difference is negligible, we might be benefiiting. Maybe some years it's different but there's only 1 bracket this year. Liked our draw, liked we got trip to LA, like our TV slots, and liked we crushed GT.
I realize women 1 seeds r usually roll early and u meant on a macro level. UCLA could blow us out, but they might more vulnerable than some others idk. the upside is big tomorrow, and I don't think the matchup is any harder than if we were a 10 (where we could have easily had a tougher 1st game).
overall we should never be afraid to play these teams. Men included (spiderstudent17).
I'm disappointed in the late start because I have to hit the road afterwards to begin my drive back to Colorado! But I'll take it, and can drive all night after we win!I don't know if this is contrarian but I don't mind at all. we knew likely coming too. Would 8:30 or 9 pm EST be better and more ideal? Yes. but...
Besides the LA location and respect we got as 8 (and decent bracket for when u have to face a 1, no disrespect to UCLA) the TV times were up there.
There will be only 1 other game going on at same time tomorrow. The 1 mens game. We got ESPN, the main channel. More visibility. And the late time has some uniqueness. It's rare for UR. 1 we usually don't ever get night slots for the men. Besides the midnight madness game vs JMU it might be 1 of our latest start times. It will finish earlier than most NFL night games.
But I think being one of the only games nationally is tops & we should embrace. For 1 more coffee. Plus I figured all PalmTree Spiders were retired early!

I wasn’t able to make it to the pre-game event Friday due to work. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for you and say hello if I run into you. Hoping for a great game!Maybe I'll see you tomorrow.
