Kyle may well be the most deserving, but not making the playoffs hurts his chances.
Agreed -- after missing last year due to injury, and being injured in the YSU game he has not had much playoff magic, but still had a great career

Isn't it the Richmond Touchdown Club that nominates and then a panel of "experts" votes on the winners.

I doubt Lauletta gets it. He is absolutely deserving but i could see the biased voters giving it to schor again which would be an absolute crime. I think Cam Phillips from Tech should win it.

I believe Kyle is deserving, but if history repeats itself our failure to make the playoffs will likely be fatal

Looks like all except Toibin (RIP) went on to play pro ball. On second thought, did Brendan play during the "Replacement" season?

Tremaine Edmunds is VPI's nominee for the Dudley. Kyle deserves to win it but I wouldn't be surprised if Edmunds gets it. Edmunds is a hell of a LB. Schor was nominated by JMU.

Then Tremaine Edmunds should win. The guy is going to be a future star in the NFL. Most say he'll be a top 15 pick in this years draft.

But Edmunds isn’t the best player in the state....Kyle is.
Edmunds absolutely is the best player in the state. 1st team all ACC and up for the Butkus award as the nations top LB and also up for all American honors.

Touchdown Club of Richmond announces 2017 award winners

The Touchdown Club of Richmond announced its annual awards this week. The players will be honored at this weekend’s Dudley and Lanier Awards banquet.

Two of the three Dudley finalists were selected, including Kyle Lauletta of Richmond, who was named the offensive back of the year. The other was U.Va linebacker Micah Kiser, who edged Virginia Tech’s Tremaine Edmunds for top linebacker honors.

Micah Kiser wins Dudley award

Final voting:

Dudley Award (Best Division I college player in Virginia):

Micah Kiser, U.Va. — 30 points (6 first-place votes)

Tremaine Edmunds, VT — 28 points (5)

Kyle Lauletta, UR — 23 points (3)

Lanier Award (Best small-college player in Virginia):

Trenton Cannon, VSU — 31 points (8)

Cam Johnson, H-SC — 24 points (4)

Josh Breece, W&L — 11 points (1)

That's such a joke. No way kiser deserves it. Tremaine Edmunds should've won easily. Best player on the best team in the state.

Was hoping Kyle would win, but after 4 years of JMU players winning, know the voters were anxious to have someone from UVA or Tech win. Kiser led ACC in tackles for last 2 years. Hard to be too upset with that pick.

Ya but Tremaine plays on the better team and is by far the better player of the two. Will be a stud on Sunday's here pretty soon.
