I would not expect that.
Why not?
He was going to redshirt last season until all our QB injuries happened and have 3 years of eligibility left (wasting one watching Lauletta finish his senior year and having 2 to play). Now instead of being a RsSo he's technically a junior with two years of eligibility left (using one to watch Lauletta this year). If Lauletta is going to be the guy, I think it would would be wise to redshirt KJ
I think we'll see KJ moved around in offense, and not necessarily playing qb.I don't disagree with anything you said there. From what I've seen and heard, I am expecting KJ to see a lot of reps this fall.

Yes he is, Mo. Moreover, nothing wrong about having more than one alternative or backup; this applies to both football and other sports including basketball. He is a quarterback. A really good quarterback.

I understood your point. Those of us who have witnessed his arm strength, accuracy, and leadership realize that Kevin is a really good quarterback. My point is that he's not being converted to running back or wide receiver or anything else being suggested.
So the All Conference QB is put out to pasture his senior year? Man, that is cold! I don't see that happening even if KJ is a better fit for the system. Are we going with 2 QB's splitting time? Show me where that has worked out well.Think KJ plays. Mancuso fits the system too and could step up after KJ's senior year.

If he's not going to start, why not let Lauletta graduate and transfer? Most of the time the 5th year seniors only take one class their last fall. If this is the plan, he could take his last class in Summer School and transfer elsewhere with his UR degree in hand. No, I think the plan is for Lauletta to start. I guess we'll see in 73 days.
This reminds me of the Michael Strauss- Michael Rocco situation. It was Strauss' team, but Rocco was able to fill in when Strauss got hurt. This is Lauletta's team. But Johnson is too good to leave on the sidelines.
Agree with 32. Lauletta starts, KJ plays but I wouldn't have a set rotation per series.
KJ is good but wouldn't put him in top 5 of FCS. I expect them to sling it around more than they did in spring which bodes well for Lauletta.
VT, I agree. But what else am I missing? If Lauletta is the guy, and I think he should be, why wouldn't you want to redshirt KJ and have him for 2 more years? Assuming KJ is ok with redshirting, why would you want him to play even 20-25% of the plays if you could redshirt him and have him through the 2019 season. If Lauletta goes down, KJ can decide on burning his redshirt again like he did last year. If not, we're in great shape at the most important position on the field for 2 more years.Lauletta has to be the guy hands down. Rotating QB's never works and we don't want to make this too complicated. Lauletta is the starter and plays all of the snaps. No rotating in Johnson. The only way that Kevin Johnson should play is if Lauletta is injured or if Lauletta isn't playing well, then throw Johnson in there. It's a nice luxury to have.
I will never understand forcing ourselves to get Mike Rocco reps as a "running QB" when he was not a running QB and Broadus was clearly the superior runner. I can recall it taking us out of rhythm and costing us a few first downs, particularly against UNH. Strauss was a great QB and there was a clear drop off when he got injured. I definitely feel more comfortable with KJ than I was with Mike Rocco under center.I agree with your comparison but the 2 quarterbacks we have now are both better players than Strauss and Rocco. Strauss put up some unbelievable numbers but didn't have the leadership and intangibles of 5 and 7.

Naw, Wolf I wasn't saying that. KL starts for sure, but believe KJ will see some developmental playing time. Could be the new Broadus or Rocco when inside the 10. Hopefully with better results. So the All Conference QB is put out to pasture his senior year? Man, that is cold! I don't see that happening even if KJ is a better fit for the system. RH must be happy with our stable of QBs because so far not offering much for 2018.
If I were running the team, I'd go 2 out of every 3 series for Lauletta and let it play out from there.
You're right that sharing of the quarterback role hasn't worked out well in many places. That said, this is pretty unique. We may have 2 of the top 5 QB in all of FCS.
I agree with everyone here that Johnson has a lot of talent, but what are you basing your "2 out of the top 5 QB in all of FCS" comment on? That's a pretty bold statement about a kid who has played 3 games.
Careful Mo, that statement was a bit Ullaesque.Probably an overly aggressive statement on my part. That said, I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility if he had a full season to prove it.

Nevertheless, Mo, your BPO.Touche.
To be fair, I did base my comments on real, college football game play and not 10 second twitter videos of workouts in a mostly empty gym with cones as defenders.
