I just wanted to think about something different for a little while, so here goes. I know some of you will be dashing to the bathroom because you are throwing up in your mouths, but.......

I think we should get behind JMU this weekend when they go to NDSU. They carry the CAA banner for all of us, and it's time to restore our league to the top of the heap. The CAA dominated for a good 15 years, but then NDSU and Eastern Washington (as well as Sam Houston) have taken control.

I'm sure FRS is probably loading his shotgun now and heading to Richmond to look for me. Sorry guy, as much as we all hate them, they are exceptional this year. We could have and should have beaten them, it can only help us to get the additional exposure for us and the CAA. Let's bury the hatchet for this weekend and hopefully for them in Frisco.

Is this a joke? No way will I EVER support jmu. I have zero respect for them and especially for how they carry themselves. They would never pull for us and their fans won't even admit that we are a very good program. The run up the score on people all the time and are a classless bunch. If it was anyone else from the CAA yes we would pull for them but not jmu.

think umwcah can win but would have to be paid handsomely to pull for them. of course they could go out there and pull a sam houston state and stink the place up.

You can have your own opinions, but if it helps UR, then I will cheer for them and anyone else too. A rising tide lifts all (CAA) boats.....

Well if that's the case, I'd rather the boats sink then watch those classless assholes win anything.

I would normally go with your logic, but when it comes to JMU and their fans, I just don't have it in me.
Go Bison!

I have an in-law who graduated from NDSU, so I have a reason to support the Bison. I don't hate JMU the way I once did, mostly because I think Houston is a straight-shooter and a great coach, as opposed to the last two circus clowns they had out there.

Ask Tyler Wilkins about how JMU operates. Realize that is a different staff, but can't get behind those guys in any circumstance since Mickey left (I have a soft spot for the Mickster - he's a good guy).

Now, if JMU goes into the Fargo Dome and wins nothing but respect for that feat. The Fargo Dome is a monster.

I see your point S-Rick but I love depressed JMU'ers.

I think the CAA represented well this year

Go Bison

I hate them more than just about anything I can think of. The school changes people when they go there. I have some very good friends that go there but they have all became somewhat d0uch3b@6$ since they have gone there. Everyone there carries themselves with something I can't even explain and I can't stand it. They think of us as a bottom dweller in this league even though we beat them and out-do them consistently. I had a friend tell me that UR wasn't really that good a couple weeks ago, which is ridiculous. They are ignorant, stupid, terrible fans who pretend to know about football but do not understand it well at all. They get more excited about the cheering and other details but not actually the game. What other school still brings up that they hosted a pregame show? (college Gameday) even though they lost the game which is the only thing that matters. I guarantee you if we hosted college Gameday but lost the actual game I wouldn't want to talk about it/remember it and I think most of y'all feel the same way. I would give so much to put on the pads for the Red and Blue and take a brutal shot at one of their players (most especially schor). No one who is a true UR fan should ever root for jmu.

All schools other than UR are equal in the eyes of the dispassionate handicapper. College football's been very good to me this year.
If JMU can make me money, I will pull for them.

No way. JMU floats on their own wave. They're only in the CAA because no other FBS conference will take them yet. For example, the Sun Belt is bloated with 11 programs they've taken. C-USA has 13 mediocre squads (maybe they're hoping the be the 14th?). The MAC? HAHAHA!

I have a very hard time cheering for JMU whether it is the regular season or the playoffs, no matter the opponent. Before our JMU game this season, I said to a W&M grad that I could pull for the Tribe but never the Pukes (even in the playoffs)
and he was in complete agreement.

Def see JMU as being able to pull off the W. They score quick so if they fall behind a score or two no big deal IF they can manage the crowd. If they get up and force ND St to play catchup rather then brute force ball control could be in trouble.

That being said, I hope Mike Houston channels his inner Mike London for this game.

Their fans are nothing but hateful A&^&%$*! They mock our stadium referring to it as a jr high stadium and call it the bread box. After 7 years they are still butt hurt that we no longer play in a 22000 facility that they claim that they took over. They sneeringly refer to the RS as Bridgeforth East. They mock us on their boards by typing RU instead of UR. They constantly make fun of our fanbase due to its small number and average age. I hate those b^%$#s and I will never ever pull for them!

Wow that is pretty harsh, defamatory and demonstrably false. JMU fans are not terrible or stupid. They support their team, hold respectable jobs and enjoy the rivalry showing up en masse for both the home and away games. GameDay was a big deal and ESPN said it was the best student experience they witnessed that year. As an alum of JMU and UR who values them both, I can tell you that your caustic, insulting assessment tells me more about you than JMU. Maybe your friends aren't the ones who changed. Maybe it's you who got very bitter and envious for reasons only you know. It sure sounds that way. Get a mirror.

Most every post I read from you runs down JMU. I have no idea what the underlying problem is with you, JMU is a large state school that compares favorably to most other schools it's size. UR is a small private school that compares favorably to schools its size. The facilities are different but well-suited to each school. UR does not support the program with attendance but doesn't have a substantial fb endowment thanks to the Robins family; JMU is the reverse. UR -JMU is the state's best football rivalry based on exciting games and even play. You can hate away but you really need to ask yourself why are you so consumed with another school who's only crime is playing yours. It's bizarre and unbecoming.

Several years ago I went to the UR/JMU game at Bridgeforth. It was a thrilling contest that followed the odd script of the winning team being the visitors. When my wife and I returned to our car, it had been vandalized with messages "Ticks Suck", "RU Sucks" and "FRichmond" painted on the hood and car doors! The car has UR Spider license plates. We don't plan to ever attend another UR/JMU game at Harrisonburg .

Bizarre? You got that right! If FRS was a trading card, he would be worth a lot
for being so rare and unique.

Nice to have civilized discussion with a JMU alum, but still love to hate you.

Wow talk about some passion. I love it, but as much as I love beating JMU and especially on game day, I loved the UVa win more. I will watch the game and probably grudgingly root for JMU, but I understand how others feel and just comment that it is a reflection, as with me, of the JMU fans we actual interact with. JMU is headed to BCS and we will miss beating them, as we do VT and ODU.

If JMU winning at NDSU meant that Rocco would stay at Richmond, I would still be rooting for NDSU this week.

jmu fans are terrible. I went to the 07 game when I was 10 years old and I remember seeing a couple pukes fans spitting on a UR flag and stomping on it at their tailgate. I have had a tough time getting that out of my head and will always hate jmu. Never said your fans don't hold respectable jobs, they do. I know plenty of successful jmu alumni. I will at least admit that jmu is a good team but your fans will never admit that we are good, they act like we're horrible for whatever reason. What a stupid thing to believe. How about having some respect for your opponents? As far as Gameday it's a little excessive to bring it up on social media every day, who won the game again? Don't think it was jmu and the game is all that matters. I had a jmu buddy tell me that it doesn't matter that they lost because school spirit is the only thing that matters. That must be how jmu fans think. Also don't tell me that I'm the one who changed, you don't know me or my friends that go to jmu. If you did you would agree with me. One of them joined this 6ay@$$ fraternity that reminds me of the Omega house from Animal House. I could go on and on. Funny enough I was pretty close to going to jmu but then I stopped and thought "what am I thinking?" I realized I have way too much Red and Blue in me to go to jmu and I became a Hokie.

I'm sorry (and embarrassed) about your experience with a couple of cretin JMU fans. I can tell you most are not like that and many like me praise UR's facilities, hospitality and the tremendous rivalry all the time. You just can't indict a whole group based on the ridiculous actions of a few. JMU has a lot of enthusiasm for their team because it's relatively new. When I got there in 1976 it was a novice D3 school and slowly moved up into the D1 classifications while I was there. UR has had a wonderful program for eons and sometimes it seems they take all they've accomplished for granted. That said, it's a great school. Here's hoping you get another great coach and howsabout you let me take you to a JMU home game and be amazed at the wonderful people there.

I may take you up on going to a game. Gonna be hard for me to go to UR games anymore so I think I'll just stick to my Hokies now and maybe go to some new places like jmu.
