Jamon Battle - 2019

One good note is that Mihalich at Hofstra is recruiting him. I believe they currently have (or had) the longest win streak in the nation. Mihalich is a very good recruiter, landing the likes of TJ Cline at Niagara, and some big time talents (Pemberton for one, and a big Euro guy that URI and P6's were after). Wonder if the new coach will recruit him?

Mihalich should get some mention for our job. I know he's older but he is a great recruiter and he wins. I think he's a Northeast guy and maybe not looking to move again, but not sure.

EL, was thinking of adding to my list. If he was a guy that wanted to step back from being the head guy would be super as a top assistant for a younger coach. But yes, would look at him as the head guy. He recruits.

Funny story, current player for him (Eli (EJ Pemberton) was trying on tux's for prom at the same time as my son at a store in CT - he had on a Hofstra basketball shirt and I chatted with him - and his mom came over and joined the conversation. He had just committed. They were very impressed with Mihalich and sounded like something screwy happened on the visit and Mihalich went out of his way to take care of it. Almost sounded like something planned - or so they thought, but none the less it worked.

I would agree that his offer list is not overly impressive. However, he does have 16 times more offers than our 2 starting freshman had before committing to us.

I don't think this is a correct statement, re: Wojcik. I'm pretty sure it was reported that he had offers from a bunch of west coast schools, albeit not Pac-12.

I am googling machine today. Here is the RTD article which references him being recruited by San Fran, Santa Clara, and Loyola. This is probably what Kneepad was remembering. To me, there is a big difference between being recruited by and have an actual offer, so you have to go with the recruiting sites for the actual offers.

Yeah, maybe that's what I was remembering. I do think early commitments generally negate the accumulation of actual offers so I don't think it is as big a difference as you portray. Regardless, I guess my point is that I think you continue to undervalue Wojcik. Time will tell in any event.

How many kids commit right away after getting their first official offer? I have to think not many, or only the ones who don’t expect to get any more offers. I would say that Wojcik certainly seems deserving of more than just those two Division I offers plus ours, however.

Wasn’t there a family connection to Sienna for Woj with their coach (before he left)? My memory is him committing early to someone he knew.

Committed in Nov 17 but article said he orally committed the prior December. Which would mean Woj committed to Siena midway through his sophomore year in high school.
247 says he committed 10/17/17 & 10/17/16??

Look at how empty the gyms are for all these highlights. I don’t follow high school hoops to know if Bird is any good, but this sure looks like a bad sign for the future of college basketball.
LC Bird is 13-2 and ranked third in RVA polls.
