Not a lot of substance in this article, but one interesting tidbit was statement in how back in 2005, UR, W&M, & Villanova looked into the Patriot League and felt that moving together was the "optimum approach" and they decided not to leave at that time. Another interesting thing was discussion of W&M joining Patriot League had preceded even the current commissioner. Last notable thing was that it looks like the Patriot League does allow 5th year players, which means we can redshirt.
I am a little surprised UR left without W&M and Villanova. Them joining will make a huge difference in the quality of the Patriot League. UR, W&M, Villanova, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Colgate all have potential to be top 25 teams any given year.
Since the original article was posted in December, I wonder if John O'Connor was trying to give us a heads up and we didn't pay enough attention?
