It's George. Yes, that one - not the other one.

Again, a win is a win, but this doesn't help come tournament time. We're going in the opposite direction.

Advance to.......?
Playing another game still with a solid shot at an at-large....

There was a lot not to like about this game, but we still get a W on this line of our schedule. Start cutting up the UMass tape and get ready, because it’s going to be a battle.

We won! It certainly helps. It helps a lot more than losing. 1 win down, 3 to go!

Late February conference ROAD games are always going to be a battle. That’s just the nature of college basketball.

I bet VCU wishes they had won ugly tonight...
But what you dont get is that if we play this way against Dukes on their senior night we will lose very ugly. They just did what we couldnt and beat Bonnies on the road. We were lucky tonight and it is good we won but Id rather not get too happy about it.

I agree we have got to regain focus. But Duquesne lost at home to GW one week ago. So things are still unpredictable.

How did you get that from my post? I know we didn't play well just saying the point of sports is to win and we did that tonight. It wasn't ideal but not every game is going to be. There's plenty to improve upon.

And if it rains tomorrow, we'll all get wet.

You only play one team per night. Tonight we beat the team we played. Worry about the next game when we play it.

I'm sure happier than I would be had we lost. And I'm a lot happier than Fordham is, who played well and lost.

You are correct. We didn't play well but still won a road game against a team that I'm sure both wanted payback and wanted to knock us off the bubble.

A lot of fouls were called on Burton tonight.
The second half flagrant foul was bogus. Yes he had his arm wrapped up in the GW player's but it appeared to be his only way to prevent from falling on his face after the GW guy pushed him down.

Every year, late in the year, bubble teams have bad bosses and can't recover. We got the win, and that's all that matters right now. And, we survived a couple flagrant-1 foul calls. Gave them two free throws and the ball both times when our guy got fouled. They got six points off those two calls. That is way too dramatic for an unintentional flagrant 1. They need to look into that rule and make some changes. Maybe not give the other team the ball if you are the one that has possession. I thought it was crazy that we got two foul shots and the ball when Andre got elbowed late in the game against St. Bona. It's just too much of an impact on the game when you give a team two foul shots and the ball if a guy on offense commits an unintentional flagrant 1.

Yeah it was very odd. I couldn't listen with volume up during the last one, but did they take away the foul on the GW player and give Burton the flagrant or did the GW player keep the foul too? I assume he didn't. It was a big swing.

Second one they took the foul off GW and gave it to Burton. And you didn’t miss much without volume. Commentators were definitely GW homers

And I understand the point of the flagrant foul, but it has gotten to be way too much - in both college and NBA. Yes, they called the foul on GW player and Burton's arm flailed out and glanced the GW player as a reaction. Seemed like a terrible call.

Interesting that on the GW board, they are talking about (does this sound familiar?) a student protest that took place at the start of the second half last night. Except it wasn't really like ours, it was about divesting from the use of fossil fuels. I guess that's one way to tell we aren't in DC.

This is BS. He can't shoot foul shots for Gilyard and Francis.

We also happen to be 21-7 and have closed out a ton of close games this year. In case you haven't noticed.
believe I heard Bob Black say last night that Spiders are undefeated this season when leading at the 5:00 remaining mark...

If correct this seems much better than past seasons...

keep winning close games, the final three games are likely to provide more opportunities to extend the streak...

Go Spiders!

They could all just turn off their electricity, heat and AC in their dorm rooms if they want that to happen. Except then where would the juice for the mobile devices come from.
