Wow - what a stunner - our former coach gets on the map in his opening Howard game...................quite a victory for the Bison..............not to be confused with the North Dakota State Bison........................
Howard pronounces Bison correctly. So does Bucknell.
UNLV and Kent State(next opponent next weekend) are both near the bottom of the 130 team FBS ratings.Howard may be visiting the Brickhouse with a 2-0 record.
This W will change the recruiting dynamic for Northern Virginia/Maryland
kids who up to yesterday wouldn't have given Howard even a cursory look.

No matter, you have to be happy for a program that has been the pits for years. It seems
to me I remember a couple times the Spiders were there.

Regardless, he is still a Spider through and through (he did play for Richmond also!!).
He was the Head Coach of our National Champion Spiders of 2008. The players he coached to that National Championship were recruited by Dave Clawson.
I think he is a good coach, and how quickly he was able to become a head coach again,
tells you what the football community thinks of him. And, I think Howard is lucky to get him.

I recall when ML was named HC at UVA, some Cavalier faithful were "giddy" over the choice of London. Several mistakenly said he built a National Champion at Richmond! He can do the same at Virginia!
It amazes me that folks downplay what Mike London did here. I don't care who recruited what players, every year the coach has to get guys to buy in. He won a NC here. No other coach has taken us to the title game.

Yeah during that loss to Appy State in that play off game in 2009 he was most likely thinking of the millions of $$$ he would be making at UVA instead of focusing on beating Appy State and thereby costing UR a consecutive national championship.
Sure Clawson started the process for a National Championship but London finished the deal and led a team to obtain the ultimate goal of being the best in the nation. For that "Run to the Roar" that ended in a glorious night in Chattanooga, I will forever be thankful to Coach London and his staff which included our current coach.
Just out of curiosity do you consider Wainwright a spider for life? Or are you just talking people who were students?
