Foggy Bottom venue even though GW is 4 seed and Gators 2 seed.O'Connell Center,home venue for Gators,is undergoing renovation and is closed as of today.How did we beat GW so easily in their house?

I bet their fans feel a little underwhelmed by this run though. Senior season for McDonald, Larsen, Garino plus transfer Cavanaugh eligible. This should have been an NCAA year for that group but they just found a way to lose too many games.
By comparison, think how we should feel. Three very experienced seniors and an impact transfer (sounds familiar) and we struggled to a .500 finish. I know it's been rehashed a lot but I hadn't thought of this parallel until now.

Bull, Miami had some great guards who took control of the game. No choke; they were simply more talented. OSC
Sorry Ulla, just read through the play by play for the second half and it seems there was a fair amount of choking. TJ missed several threes, missed free throws by the usual suspects and terrible rebounding giving up second chance points. Maybe not the "Mooney Choke" but definitely some choking going on.

You also say the A10 is terrible. Their early season win over UVA must really sway things in your mind.
Funny that they're the best team, yet finished 5th in the A10. KenPom 64, RPI 68.

I've refrained from speaking about VCU on here, even though I congratulated you guys on a regular season sweep last year after our second loss. I kept up on this site over the summer as nearly 10% of the posters proclaimed it was your year to take over the city and the A10 with your veteran team.
I read posts calling Mo hit a woman in a moment of anger, saying Will Wade will wasn't Shaka. I read some posters *the Ulla* guarantee a season sweep of my team. I read on here that VCU fans were delusional in believing in our constant belief they were a top 10 program.
This is your board so I never came on here to post about our decent season. But if you want to goad me into a conversation about our season vis a vis yours, I will happily oblige.
Tough season for you guys and I talk fairly regularly with a former UR student athlete about Mooney. Good enough not to fire, bad enough to be left wanting more from him. Cline is a player and I'm glad he's not considering a graduate transfer.

Sounds like he has been holding back many issues and just let out an incoherent rant.
The GW talk was in my initial post in this thread where Ulla proclaimed them being the best team in the A10. Pretty tough to say that when none of the numbers back it up. I was most impressed with SJU throughout the year and they would have my vote.
Yeah, I talked about VCU in response to K - not why I came to this thread but if he wants to get into that discussion I'll keep posting about it. I love to talk VCU hoops, even though we're all on our "couch" at this point in the year.
Makes sense. Your team had a good season, one that would be considered great by a Spider team. I dont despise VCU like most others here because I didnt grow up in the environment of the rivalry so I wont make light of others dislike. IMO having the Rams be successful is a great thing for UR hoops. It is a huge motivational force for the admin to try to improve the program. Next year I hope VCU is as good but the Spiders are better.
The reality is that VCU/RPI/the Richmond Division of the College of William and Mary has left us in the dust in basketball. Six NCAA appearances in a row is an enviable record. No matter how good they are I can not bring myself to root for them and the better they do the less I like them no matter how petty that may sound. I can pull for any other A-10 team to do well unless they are playing us but will not and can not pull for the Broad Street school. It only makes matters worse when the local media fawn over them. It would make me feel a lot better if we could beat them consistently by huge margins in every game we played them but sadly that does not look imminent. So until that happens and maybe even after it happens if I live long enough to see it I will pull for whomever is playing against them and take delight in every game they lose.
Couldn't have said it better myself. It's their fans and their self-importance that gets me. If they were classier I might feel better.

I'm from Minnesota and have followed the Gophers my entire life. Most of those seasons have been losing (football and basketball). I'm a graduate of VCU, so obviously I'm a pretty big Ram fan.
I speak for myself here. I just don't get it. Go post on the Gopher or ram board and stay off of this board unless you're so enamored with the Spiders that you've just got to be here. Personally, I don't give a crap about the gophers or Rams so I don't visit or post their boards. Do gopher-rams live in holes?
By classier, do you mean wash their hair more than once a semester? Or maybe just not have criminal records?
