Jacob played an amazing game. He really did it all, he’s a special, once in a generation type player.
28 points, 6 steals, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Wow!!! Jacob is why I will never say never when the A-10 tourney starts.
The refs were not helping. Awful officiating. Glad we pulled it out! Did get a little hairy there for a while.
Hard to believe Jake won't be first team all A10. He has been tremendous all year. Good thing Mooney gave him some rest tonight, especially when we had almost a 20 point lead in the second half(?)
very nice to see Sal and Grace get some good playing time, giving Grant and Nate some much needed rest. Would love to see Moon Man play with three bigs and two guards more often

I’ve been a Sal critic but he looked good out there tonight. Hit a three, made a nice cut on his layup, and grabbed some tough boards. I like his aggressiveness and think he deserves these type of minutes moving forward
Pretty sure Gilyard played all 40. He’s such a key for us but I think it’s crazy Mooney plays him 40 practically every night. Gonna run him into the ground
Gilyard played at least 45 minutes in this game. The kid was everywhere. Too tired to make his free throws at the end, but what a show that young man put on. He willed them to win. I presume Mr. Livingston was impressed.
Sal still needs a Big Mac, but he is coming along nicely. He will make mistakes and be out muscled like Cayo was last year, but he will be very good the next 3 years.
Don’t forget Matt Grace. The young man came in grabbed two or three big rebounds in the first and second half at opportune times. Mooney hasn’t hit him with the anti-rebound cattle prod enough times.
My best guess would be he was not ready earlier, and would not have given us the 12 good minutes that he gave tonight in earlier games. Not every freshman will be ready to play from game 1. If he starts to help and play well, I don't think it is as simple as saying he should have been playing all along. I think it will be more of a case of he is much more comfortable and much improved now than he would have been earlier.
I will give Mooney credit for at least going 3 deep and getting 43 minutes and 13 points from the bench tonight. He has to trust who he has and not burn up the starting 5.
Guess that's why the lights are always on in Vegas. Hope you guys didn't bet your mortgage payment.
I saw him in a game a month ago and looked the same as tonight. Mooney if a dumb effing coach. From the twitter picture of Queally tonight and Hardt's talk earlier, we are stuck with this POS coach. We are screwed for 3 more years. This is truly unbelievable.

My observations:
1. Straight zone appeared miraculously and in a huge surprise, guys seemed comfortable in it and it kinda worked. Weird.
2. Jacob is fair to middling. Or good. Or really good.
3. Young guys try to rebound, beatings shall continue.
4. Sal - magically ready today, not ready 4 days ago against a weaker lasalle team. Hm.
5. I distinctly heard a small fart at the 2:30 mark followed by the world’s smallest turd rolling out from CMs pants leg.

Admittedly, 1st game I have attended this season -- boycotting the RC due to CM. To be candid, missed being in the building. Expected a clown show and got the exact opposite. No way there were 4700 there -- maybe 3500. But once again the crowd was great. Team played their asses off -- I think Gilyard is pissed about their recent play and is putting the team on his back. His intensity is admirable. Forget the bad officiating, unfortunately it's the norm in bball and sports now. Teams have to adjust and play thru it (unless you're N.O.) Grant needs to dial it back on the refs with Body language and arguing over every call.
Credit where it's due. I said earlier this week that Paulson rotated guys in and out all 40 mins, and Mooney read my post. Ha. Pace was frantic, and he was definitely ready for it. He had played 8 guys before first U16 break. Thrilled to see Sal get quality mins. He's going to be good.

Thrilled to be 29 points wrong on my prediction. Awful execution from 7:25 to 2:30, but Grant really redeemed himself with two big buckets and two big rebounds. Great game by Jake, and solid outings by everyone else. Great to see the boys get a win.

I wasn't at the game but caught the tv coverage. Anyone else think something seemed off with Mooney in the postgame interview? A lot of stuttering and seemed to be struggling to come up with what words to say. Not trying to pick on him just something I noticed. He just seemed very uncomfortable/distracted/jittery.
Also his last line of the interview he threw in both of the board's favorite catchphrases in one line - something to the effect of "we need to keep practicing hard and competing." I almost wonder if at this point he's not throwing that out there on purpose to troll us.

What are we making of PQ's outburst at the refs. Just fandom at work, or a calculated display of support for Moon? I'm still trying to figure out this Lunardi thing. It seems to all add up in my mind to a United triumvirate pumped up for another run next year.

I tell you I think Andre is going to be a good player. Although he might be a tad slow for the A10, his defensive positioning, stance and foot work is going to help him compensate. He needs to work on his shot a lot and getting it off quicker, aka John Schweitz
Otherwise, good game spiders. Good thing we had, I believe a 20 point, cushion at one point.
