"The Great One" gets his due...I believe he could have gotten more out of the talent in the program during the last ten years...

my apologies for the amateur and "shakey" video...

thanks for the memories Coach Tarrant...

Go Spiders!

Matriculated in 1987; graduated in 1991....2 ncaa appearances with sweet 16 and upset of syr along with 2 NIT appearances....thought success would continue....fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice (or 10 times), shame on me.

They are for Mooney. He pockets a million plus per year regardless. Plus, he gets to start his golf game early each year, spend some more time with kids, or whatever the F*ck he does every March, cause we sure as heck know he isn't coaching us in the NCAA's.
I’ve always wondered about how Mooney’s family handles his lack of success. Sure he brings in the big bucks and from what I heard just moved into an even larger home further west on river road, but his family has to hear the criticism. I’m sure it’s gotta be hard on his kids hearing from their classmates about how bad their dad sucks at his job. I know they have to hear it especially considering vcu’s success. Mooney’s one son is even teammates with Mike Rhoades son on the same AAU team, there is no way kids on their team don’t give Mooney’s son a hard time for his dad losing to their other teammates dad all the time. Why not just move your family away from Richmond and all the criticism that your kids hear, I know it’s gotta be hard on them. Leave for the kids Mooney! Do it for the kids!!!

This is a stupid post.

Watching Clippers/ Celtics and Kenny Atkinson is a Clippers assistant, which I did not know. I figured he was sitting the year out. Come on back as HC original KA.

wonder if he would entertain the idea at all. Unfortunately, seems pretty unlikely that a guy who has NBA head coaching experiencing and has been running in NBA circles for as long as he has probably wants to stay at that level even if it's just as an assistant.

Agree, it is a long shot. I could see Kenny being a heck of a coach for us if that was where his heart is.

Recruiting is something most NBA lifers don't want to get involved with, unfortunately.

I do think Kenny could be a heck of a recruiter. And yes, agree that coaches do like that aspect in the NBA. Pretty sure that JB mentioned that in an interview when he took Cleveland job.

However, Kenny is such a high energy guy, I think he would build a dynamic staff and would be really really good at selling his vision. I do think he is still on the radar for another NBA head coaching opportunity. As someone else mentioned, bring in Winiecki to be big man coach, get a recruiting dynamo, and off to the races.

I would say very small chance.

no doubt! The regatta would be amped up to levels we have never seen before bringing in a former player and former NBA head coach to take over the program 😂
Yes, I very different regatta...
