Getting ready for this coming season

I don't know about y'all but I'm really excited for this upcountry ning season. Obviously basketball season is a dumpster fire and everyone is moving on or already has moved on from it. We have great reason to be excited for football. I love the direction we're headed in with Huesman and his staff. We have a QB in KJ who fits the offensive system better and I think we've finally figured out the running back rotation. We still have a very strong receiving corps too and the defense will be much better. We were finally starting to hit our stride towards the end of last year which is too bad because if we figured it out earlier we could've made another deep run in the playoff. jmu was not that much better than us last year and with them losing a lot of guys it's time to take a major step up and take over the CAA again. We need to put teams like Elon and Stony Brook back in their place and I'm confident that we will. Let's wreck em this year boys!!!

Agreed. We also have the firman transfer, Coleman, who was FCS all-freshman, and a strong recruiting class coming in with the potential of adding more recruits by next fall

Also, with the elevate campaign going on now, we'll have new locker rooms, weight room, and sports medicine rooms to show off to prospective players/FBS transfers

Biggest thing will be if we can continue our defense from the end of last season to next year. I believe that'll be the biggest key to our success

I don't know, I've talked to several players and the consensus with them seems to be that KJ is their man. I think that speaks volumes about the type of leader and player he is.

I agree that KJ seems to be the man but I wouldn't mind if we had a package of plays for Mancuso. Interesting spring coming.

Opinions can change my man. The beginning of the season yes I thought he was an idiot. Right around the jmu game is when I realized we will be just fine. We went toe to toe with them and should have won that game. That game made me realize we are a top 10 maybe even top 5 team talent wise, it just took us a while to wake up. Some of the schemes took a while for players to pick up, especially defense but I think now that they have a year under their belts they will be ready to go in year 2.

KL is obviously a huge loss, but our O should remain prolific. I'm most excited about the defense, Huesman's bread and butter. The guys really picked up the scheme as the year progressed and I expect us to field a very strong defense next year from game one. Thought special teams improved throughout the season as well.

On the flip side, as many here have pointed out, have questions, but see hopeful signs, regarding the strength and depth of both lines. We'll be as successful as they are.

Really like where we are going into next season even before the new class is completed.

Agree that our D, particularly secondary, started to get the new schemes, but our coaches have to adjust some because CAA refs are so bad. Those guys see so little man D around the league that they call PI on us if we barely breathe on a receiver. Cost us this season at critical points in some games.
