Game Day Thread "Spiders vs EW"

Have to say, they're not outplaying us. We're just beating ourselves and throwing in some questionable play-calling. Play tight, play together and we're in the game.

I agree, Alum. However, a 21-point hole is tough to overcome, especially against a team like EWU. Not impossible, but very, very tough

that one was on the coaching staff. visions of things to come with London's return.

That half sucked. All self inflicted wounds. Can't keep putting the ball on the ground. #20 looks cold.

can't hold onto the ball and can't get our footing -- neither are good signs, glad to be down only 21. Get a stop on the first series, end it with a score and MO may return to our sideline

Maybe. SHSU couldn't do squat. We're at least doing some things, but have just made way too many mistakes. Not sure one is better than the other

Richmond leading Time of Possession and First Downs, but EW leading in yards, big plays, turnovers and score board.

the defensive effort in the 2nd half so far looks like the 2nd half versus W&M- Looks like the party is over turn out the lights

We have had players in their backfield on nearly every play and no contain.

I don't think they've quit. Yet.

25 minutes left in this Era. I don't know if they'll ever get back to this level again.

I'm so glad this season is over, I am worn out from injuries and all the Rocco crap. Hope the next coach does better

E Washington signed their coach to a contract extension. We continue to flounder... Who knows what sort of effect this has had on the team? Mental mistakes are the result of lack of focus... Who can focus when the coach is halfway out the door, and hasn't said otherwise publicly?

I can't agree more. Whether Rocco stays or goes, a lot of this is on his head too.

Am a bit out of the loop.... Do we know that Rocco is gone? Do we believe we have a good shot to get London back? We have clearly had far weaker coaches than London. He did take us to a national championship and he has probably learned a lesson or two from the UVA experience.

He may be a stronger coach now than he was when he led us to the NC. I would certainly offer his the job, and forgive the way things ended last time, if we know DR is on his way out. We also have several really good assistants on this team, so it would be really nice to retain as many of these as possible (including our OC and DC), since it would help our recruiting continuity...Can someone update me on what we know for sure (or believe) about the coaching situation?

Would have been interesting to see how game would have played out if we had Lauletta, D.Jones and all the others.

We would have been seeded and not on the road for the second week in a row to the other side of the country.

All that said, we still didn't show up to play today.

Completely agree. Regardless of how much Rocco tries to keep things separate, the team is definitely affected.
