Fordham SOLD out; GW just about sold out... get your tickets now!

I actually think the board is closer to "right" in analyzing the status of our program, but I think it's fantastic that there's a fanbase out there who isn't melancholic about our current winloss record.

Wife awhile back said let's take a trip down to Richmond and see the Spiders play. Good thing I finally got them for this game on Sunday. They better win so I don't need Tums to go along with my dinner afterwards.

Another game another sell out.... get your tickets for GW now, lets go....

Mooney contract extension coming!?!?!?!?, fans turning out in droves......LOL
Must be the half time entertainment planned - Fire breathing dragons riding bicycles followed by exhibition match between WWE divas.

How many times do I have to explain a sellout? This isn't Cameron. While every single seat will not be "filled", the crowd will be fantastic!
So you are saying it is a "sell"out not a "sit"out?

?... the one thing I can say is the crowd is 100% better and more consistent than it has been for many, many years. Let's hope it stays that way....
+1...attendance has been progressively better and as others have noted, a good fan base should help our success in a variety of other ways.

Just one example, a fellow and his wife have season tickets that sit next to me. They both graduated from a different University. They both adopted U of R as their hometown team, partly because it was easy to get season tickets. This is what we really need, a growing fan base not tied to U of R as a graduate.

we questioned how to get more fans in the seats for years. always came back to win and they'll come. well, we're not really winning that much and yet they're here. the major improvements to the RC, improvements to the entertainment factor, and the reduction of seats did the trick. if things come together, and I know that's an "if" that some don't want to hear about. if the next class is as good as we hope and takes us to the level we're looking for. someday soon seats will be hard to come by.

The renovations/environment at the new RC probably didn't hurt in getting Buckingham and Sherrod on board.

The atmosphere is really good at the RC now, but anyone who was there on Saturday, can attest that the passion level at the game was not near the same level as it is has been the team is playing better and actually in contention for something.

It is a really positive sign though for our fan base and sports marketing department that we can sell out the Fordham game with the mediocre product we are putting on the floor right now.

I agree it has gotten progressively better over the last 5-6 years. But my last comment was a joke that it is tickets sold not attendance that determines a sellout.

If all the tickets for a concert were sold, the promoter would be happy even if no one showed up.

The VCU game had empty seats, too. THere are folks who get snuck into one of the terraces, or they just had something come up and couldn't make it. It happens.

Also, the sellouts come when there is no competition down the street. It would be nice to put on a good show so they would come here first.

Can't wait to welcome the white hot Spiders back to town. Anybody know what time they get back to town tonight?

Its not Cameron but claiming maybe 5000 is a sellout is rediculous

If all tickets are accounted for, it's a sellout, regardless of how many butts are in seats. That's why it's called a sellout and not something else.

Ca someone please go up into each suite and around the concourses on Saturday and count the people who aren't in their seats?

Thanks!

Sell out vs attendance two different figures but not accounted for. Would be interesting to see the real number of people attending

sd - in the not too distant past attendance was counted as the number of tickets utilized to gain admission now it is the number of tickets sold. The school probably is able to track both numbers but for whatever reason - probably the higher the number reported the better it is perceived - the sold tickets is now the number reported as attendance. Don't know how that factors in student attendance which has a certain number of seats reserved for students.
