Elon vs. UR

A complete pass to Brian Brown. First down on the Phoenixes' 11 and a TD by the Spiders, with a run by Lauletta for a TD.

Bob Black made a point that the Phoenixes have the most 3rd downs in the league. Apparently, that means that they hold opposing teams through 1st and 2nd downs. So far, it seems we are adding wrinkles and keeping them off balance.

What does this say about their mascot? How would that work having a mascot that rhymes with appendices? The Phoenicies?
Not sure, I'm just glad we have time to talk about this during the game instead of being on edge...

they did not onside kick nor use any of their 3 timeouts, a tad weird

Don't panic . . . Elon's 2 TDs were against our 2nd and 3rd subs. Certainly wish we'd make more of statement on keeping shutout. But always good to let young guys get some PT. Only going to get tougher next few weeks, so getting 1st stringers out to prevent injuries is a good thing.

Another solid preference today. We were not as sharp as a team this week as we were against Maine, but we still dominated Elon. We can run the ball and KL continues to impress. He did throw the one interception, but was extremely efficient otherwise. The final score did not reflect how dominate the Spiders were today. I also like the contributions the younger players are making. Glad the second and third string got to play a few series today. Awesome day at the Robins Stadium!

The INT was a one hand deflection by one Elon player that popped into the hands of a second.
