I know Coach words are different in private times but I want players to always think AM I FIGHTING or AM I JUST COMPETING?? I think is a difference for each player and also each coach to decide about their self.

Love it Fezz. I am OK with "competing" at the rec basketball level, in h.s. where coaches cannot recruit, and some other levels. But at Richmond where we pay the coach 1.3 mill, have chartered flights, great RC facility and scholarship players, Mooney is setting the bar too damn low. And yes, he may be saying something differently privately, but then the players go to their room and watch the youtube press conference and hear a 180 degree message. Poor, poor, poor.

Well, when you've got a losing record against a very bad slate of opponents, there's not really any coach-speak that's going to get the job done. I guess the best thing we could hear is anger and fire and frustration -- something to show that the coach sees how bad things are. That's not the Mooney way though - always trying to be uplifting, even with there's a burning bag of dog doo on the doorstep.
