Down but not out. Moving on to Stony Brook

17-7 with 10:48 left in the 1st half. Team looks VERY lackadaisical. Very much like they're going through the motions. Too many silly mistakes and penalties. Looks like a first game of the season. Hope Huesman can light a fire under them at halftime.

I'm at the game and we are just a bad FB team No way to sugar coat it. Not well coached at all. Not impressed with our assistants, esp. the defensive coaches.

Instead of dumping on the team and coaches how about fighting for admissions to allow up to get a few studs to in- one of Rocco’s beefs is the signed player who ended up at Duquesne because he was 1 point shy on his ACT. Under his tenure admissions made it harder and harder to get quality players in - don’t want us letting in poor students, but come on

There might be an "underground" plot between the administration and admissions to force the football program to move to the Patriot League headed by Fly The Coop!

Not sure dropped balls , stupid penalties and defensive backs not turning to find the ball are an admissions problem.

I do think that the admissions is a problem- that said if we don’t call a defense that can stop the X - and a 3rd down defense in general we are going to continue to loose close games.

Oh come on. We are already back to admissions being the problem? Thw staff and team need to scheme and execute a whole lot better.

Catch punts and passes. Don't interfere. Run the damn ball on 2nd and 2.

Lots of places to place blame but admissions isn't one of them today.

Just back from the game. I actually thought the defensive front played decently well today. #3 got abused all day both by the refs and the WRs. #29 didn’t play up to his standards and got literally run over a couple of times. #18 with critical drops. Heck, even #5 made some terrible decisions today forcing throws into loaded coverage. Just a rough day.

We're soft and not very good.

Does anyone have a blindfold and cigarette they can spare for the guy calling offensive plays? Hypothetically of course.

Mickey fired him. Many JMU fans say that Mickey micro managed and then scape goated him.
JMU had good offensive teams under Durden I believe but they had big strong running QBs ala Tutt. We need to get our running game back obviously.

I have never spent an afternoon at a football game where I was this calm and relaxed. There wasn't anything to cheer about - players and the crowd were flat. Referees were the worst I have seen since Robins Stadium was built.

We're just not very good. We are going to have to watch Huesman recruit and coach for a couple of years. We keep making stupid mistakes, our play calling is questionable, and we are our own worst enemy. Let's keep supporting the guys - getting back to where we were is going to be a process, unfortunately.

Couple of the players parents pointed out that the sideline energy was very low. All of us there can tell you they were not getting any energy from the stands either. I only heard the SB fans.
