I was hanging out with my buddy Cody Gray who plays at UR last night at a bonfire in Powhatan and he was telling me all about our new staff. He loves the new coaches as do all the new guys. A lot of the guys believe that if Gill had been fired earlier that Rocco would still be at UR. It's over and done with though and it sounds like we have it pretty good now. Cody had all kinds of funny stories about Huesman and Durden in particular and says they're a bunch of wild rednecks. I love that! They both seem like players coaches and I think I would love to play for them.
If Huesman and Durden are "wild rednecks", then the administration really does have a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness!
I wonder if Crutcher new this when he hired them?

Crutcher was a member of a very secret club while at Yale( kind of like a Skull and Bones). It was a club comprised only of Redneck Cello players. It was so secretive and exclusive that no one knew that it existed. That's the word out of New Haven.

Ya Cody said that the whole Broadus thing really out Rocco over the edge. gill apparently had a big hand in the way of that being handled poorly. gill also apparently was a big reason the mess with Hines happened as well. Kind of all what I expected happened.
Is the following an accurate depiction, based on your knowledge?
The speculation was that Gill or another member of the administration intervened and would not allow Broadus to play the last 2 or 3 games of the season, leaving Coach Rocco with only Lauletta heading into the post season. The speculation is that Gill or another member of the administration caved to pressure resulting from articles written by a young co-ed and directed at at least one member of the football team. Tension simmered between Rocco and Gill (or another member of the administration), until the Broadus event. At that point, the rift was irreparable.

You may wanna make sure ******* doesn't mind you sharing your personal conversation with him on the board and his name being included regarding things going on with the team. May not appreciate it.

That said, this is the second time we have had a coach sacrifice his position for the well being of the school. The first was Jim Reid. Danny Rocco was the second. All should now moved on to the Russ Huesman era. The future is bright.
