Deion Taylor

If going from posting a video about a senior who has put in a lot of work, overcoming a serious surgery in the process ... to making fun of his shooting in a single post is humor, I guess I just don't understand good humor.

In fairness...and I assumed they were joking, but he actually did hit three 3s in a row (clearly no edits). We all know game versus practice is very different though.

Deion is certainly a well spoken young man. Proud that he is a Spider. OSC

Deion's shot looks great to me there. no hitch at all. when he's open and can take a set shot like those, I'd totally give him the green light. it's when he takes a jumper that I see the hitch. he just releases the ball a little late in the motion.
great interview and great job by Beck. really nice young man. hope he has a great finish to his career here.

Quoted line - "when he's open and can take a set shot like those, I'd totally give him the green light."

Response - During games he's left open most of the time.

7 for 21 on the season would be ok if he weren't so open. He was a 40% shooter his freshman year.

sample size is too small. if he got 1 lucky bounce he'd be at 38% and looking fine. 1 more falls and he's 43% and we're ecstatic.
Deion's 7-21 is not the team's biggest problem.

Totally agree, just saying Deion isn't dreadful from 3 in spite of the prevailing opinion. Sample size is too small to read much into it.

For Deion and Trey it is not so much the shots they take but the shots that they don't or can't take that is one of our biggest problem.

If Deion or Trey doesn't take a shot and instead TJ or Terry takes it, isn't that a net positive, given their shooting percentages?

TJ ranks 52nd in the country in FG percentage. Terry is 109th. (ShawnDre is 239th.)

As a team, we rank 18th in the country.

For all the double and triple teaming TJ and Terry get because we have non-shooters on the floor, they and the team as a whole can't really shoot a whole lot better than they are.

Some would say the sample size is too large.

And the other teams in the A-10 have taken full advantage of that. I am sure both guys can shoot lights out in an empty Robins Center, but when the pressure is on neither can shoot, which is reflected in both shooting FT's in the 45% range. PRESSURE!!!

K, while I don't disagree that I would rather have other guys shooting 3's for us, the facts remain that DT is shooting 33% from 3 and TD is shooting 40.6%. Those are respectable numbers for guys that we all consider not particularly good shooters.

FTs are a totally different story. Fugly.
