Coming home?

So back to Buck, I wonder how often a guy has transferred back to his original school. Ever? I’m guessing yes, ever...
Some guy for VCU did it like a year ago. Might have been on their team last year actually. If not then, two years ago.

Bucks ain’t coming back here - he got kicked off the team by the same coach that is still here. More likely we get AWIII.

Always liked how hard he played for us, wish things would have turned out differently for him here. Hope he finds a good fit for his last year.

yes to vcu. I was a year off w my prediction. probably bc he hadn’t graduated yet last year. This extra covid year will give some guys opportunities. Same w ours as long as team have spots which many will.
I bet you are correct. He won’t be bothered with attending classes either.

I’d look for Buck to go to Liberty. KA will be going after him hard and I think he makes a lot of sense there, good program that wins at a high level in their league and has amazing facilities. The falwell family will also probably be paying him.
Lol, I see Buck going anywhere in the country other than Liberty. Not his style.

The rules there aren’t as strict as everyone makes them out to be, at least with athletics they’re not. I mean they have Hugh Freeze coaching football, their AD is the former AD from baylor during their sexual assault scandal, and of course don’t forget about the falwell family still being associated with them even though technically they no longer are. Liberty does not stand for what they say they do and I promise you they would take Buck in a heartbeat and likely pay him cash too.

So far in Mooney's 16 years, we've been projected#1 exactly once, and it didn't really work out. I'm not interested in waiting another 16 years to find out if it's different then.
Am in total agreement with you. However I have zero confidence in Queally if he is the puppet master, have no respect for Hardt's management ability (see Covid, see Covid coverup, see faith in Mooney, etc.), and I have no faith in Mooney to deliver (see long term performance & record, A10 titles, record vs VCU, and NCAA appearances).

The facts speak for themselves.

Lol, Tech would pay more.

of course this is not the best we can be.

you haven't seen me argue against firing Mooney. you've seen me doubt we do it. and I understand why. I disagree with those who think we will or can write that check. our donors aren't going to step up like Indiana's did. but maybe I'm wrong.

I was for the extension, which I admit was a mistake. for my own sanity I'd like to see him gone. I used to enjoy this board. now I've got to spend 30 minutes each day reading the same repetitive stuff about Mooney instead of reading about the team and about recruits. every thread turns into "Mooney sucks", including this thread that was supposed to be about Buck entering the portal. and I know nothing will change all offseason if he's still here. so I show up for the slim chance I'll see something I'm interested in.

no, I don't blame Mooney as much as some do here for every bad thing that happens. I don't criticize every play or non-timeout. I don't think he sucks. but for the most part it hasn't worked. I like the pieces more than the whole.

I thought we were great last year and I thought that was a fun, successful season. it might have been a special year. we'll never know. Covid sucks.

I loved the roster again this year. a lot of bad things happened starting with Sherod and Crabtree. sometimes bad things happen and you try to overcome it but can't achieve the level you hoped for.

but I'll take my chances as the projected #1 team every year. more often than not, you do well from the #1 spot. and you're doing something right to be in that #1 spot. unfortunately we won't be anywhere near that top spot next year.

So I wonder why every thread turns into "Mooney sucks"? Why oh why would that be?

One theory - Many of us have been associated with he school & followed our sports programs way longer than before there ever was a Hardt or a Mooney in the conversation. We are long term and loyal fans. There comes a time when the frustration level takes over. I believe many of us are at that point. How long do we need to suffer through failed management / leadership with no hopes or expectations for a better outcome? Frustration lives on for another season & another & another.

and I do understand that. I understand wanting to do everything you can to get the change you believe will make things better. I just don't think turning every thread that way will have any affect. and I don't see how it makes the day to day any less frustrating.

write to Hardt every day. write to Queally. write to the new president. start a petition. but this message board? very little effect in my opinion. especially with it's anonymity.

It's not about using the msg board in attempts to have Mooney fired. Nobody believes that. What the msg board provides is a forum for open discussion. One thing I've noticed is that there is a common bond of passion for the team for almost all of the posters with a few exceptions & trolls. I believe there is a whole lot more passion with us than with Hardt / Mooney. I also believe there is more frustration I previously mentioned with us than with those 2. If there were real frustrations with those 2, than radical changes in one shape or form would have already taken place, but they are both dug in & provide nothing but lip service and sound bytes. The status quo is perpetual. Actions speak louder than words, and the actions of those 2 are measurable and quantifiable. They are not track records of success by any stretch of the imagination.

The real fans here know they have an ear and a brotherhood of understanding more so than would ever be realized or admitted with the leaders of failure. If every post is fire Mooney, then so be it.

Buck Career follows an interesting trend. He's good at first and then seems to regress and them moves on. By the end of last year he wasn't starting at Bakersfield and he ended up the year omly averaging 19 min a game which was down a good bit from his prior year.

Something isn't right with him, but I wish him well at UNCG and hopefully he figures out life!

So sad. He was a fan favorite.

Will always have love for the local players like Buck and was one of my favorites despite his regression sophomore year. Hope he goes on to have a stellar year.
