Cignetti leaves Elon for JMU

What's with these in-conference moves?
I get this, because I thought the same thing. But then I want to ask why the idea of a coach switching to a team in the same conference was ever a concern. At least it adds to rivalries. If I’m an Elon fan I want to beat JMU that much more now. Kind of like how I feel about Delaware.

32,when does the quiet period start? not a lot of window here, unless these elon recruits wait till feb.2019.

Contact period November 25-December 15,January 11-February 2.

Dead period December 17-January 10,February 4-7.

During a dead period a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents, and may not watch student-athletes compete or visit their high schools. Coaches may write and telephone student-athletes or their parents during a dead period.

It's not reciprocal, though. Rivalries mean more when both fanbases get involved. Many of these so called "rivalries" are more just disses on one side, and the other side doesn't even know there is a rivalry. Our "spat" with Delaware barely registers on the Delaware side, and will go away once Rocco disappears. Same with Elon/JMU. JMU could care less. Their mindset is they take what they want. Elon (what few fans they have) may get upset, but they know the score. They're small, don't have the resources of JMU (or us for that matter). Whatever insults they throw at Madison will get drowned out by Purple streamers and Purple fans' hubris.

Just checked out the Chattanooga board about Arth following Huesman. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone close to our program?

From the Chattanooga message board:
9:58 PM - 1 day ago #40

"Having a pretty close look at the players for the past four seasons there was definitely a change in the continuity of the team after Coach Huesman left. The players are close knit but coaching changes, new players, and pressure pitting players against players caused some problems. Many players knew under Coach Huesman that if they work hard and put their time in their day would come. This did not seem to happen with Coach Arth. So, I think some of the players that have been there for a while did not feel that the coaching staff was behind them. No loyalty to many of those that came before this coaching staff. Some starters lost their positions... one did not get to play in any games this season despite having started last year and seeing action for several years. One that has traveled for the past two years was told he wouldn’t travel this year. It ended up he did travel and got in a few plays at the end of the season. The point being... why was he told he wouldn’t travel this season?

"One coach in particular spent a lot of time cursing his players. That’s okay if he also complimented them when something went well. That didn’t happen. So for one group it has been a stressful two years of negatively. Something that I think the HC should have picked up on and corrected. But he did not. This is just a few of my observations and others may not agree with my opinions and that is okay."
