Congrats to Coach McGeehan and Camels for clinching Big South regular season championship and getting #1 seed in their tourney next week. And they get to play on their home court. Great job he's done in building that program in 5 years. Just wish we hadn't lost his recruiting and coaching, since I believe he was a big reason for our 2010 & 2011 NCAA seasons. And we might have been able to have Chris Clemons on our team (#1 scorer in nation at 30 per game, can drive and dunk against the trees at 5'9", and can hit NBA 3's like Curry). Would be cool to see that guy play in NCAA tourney, so rooting for them to win next week.

Only negative is that he also plays same offensive and defensive schemes from what I can tell. But in couple games I've watched, players play tough and fight for rebounds. Maybe it's Smitty's influence there, since he was unrelenting on the court, and I'm sure he's given pointers to Clemons on how to tomahawk dunk.
I'm surprised he pulled it off. Hadn't really done much his entire time there until this year. I suspect he found in Clemons his version of KA and will not do much after this year. Gotta be hoping he gets some type of offer as soon as the season is over.
EL, thinking the same thing, he found his KA. Hopefully has some reinforcements to follow. Can he beat Mike Jonesy in the BS tournament - no pun intended.
Not on the list - he is hoping they make the NCAA tourney and maybe win a game. They are likely to get play in game - so they have a chance there to win, but nothing after that. Then hope he can move to CAA type league.

Considering he's known in that conf to do full court press recruiting on guys they really want, think he was main recruiter while here. And yes, it's Big South, but considering 2 of their non-top teams beat up on Spiders in RC, I'm sure Camels would have put a beat down on us as well, with Clemons going off for 40+.
Just took a look at their roster real quick - they have 7 guys playing 20 mins + a night. Only 2 are seniors - but they are Clemons and 2nd leading scorer, so obvioulsly some really big shoes to fill next season. But in a conference like Big South - as he has shown, if you just have 1 stud player - you can make a run in the league
We can not compete against Big South bottom feeders, like Hampton and Longwood, imagine what upper level squads like Campball and Radford would do to us. I doubt it would be pretty.
McGeehan really struggled his first few seasons at Campbell. I'm thinking he has caught lightning in a bottle with Clemons who is a once in a generation or perhaps once in a lifetime player for Campbell. Let's see how he does next season. I always thought McGeehan was a Mooney "yes man", I hope he proves me wrong.
