CAA lines Week 7

Crazy in all the years of this rivalry I have never seen such limited chatter around a game with JMU coming up. I imagine that has to do with how weird this season is but the fact of the matter is we are playing JMU with a playoff spot on the line. Would love to pull out a W and have coach huesman shut me up after I was down on my expectations this spring. Even more impressive with it only being a 16 team field.

UR v JMU -9.5

UD v Nova +6.5
Wow 9.5 is not bad. I would have expected high teens or low 20’s in Harrisonburg. I guess you never know is going to play up until game time because of the covid crap.

FCS playoff automatic qualifiers:
Davidson (PFL) - first-ever bid
Delaware (CAA)
Holy Cross (Patriot)
Jacksonville State (OVC)
Monmouth (Big South)
Sacred Heart (Northeast)
Sam Houston (Southland)
South Dakota State (MVFC)
VMI (SoCon) - first-ever bid
Weber State (Big Sky)

UD getting AQ is not good for UR getting an at-large bid.

Don’t think it really matters. JMU and UD are clearly the top 2, and we and Villanova haven’t made a strong enough case for a third from the CAA.

To be honest the committee will decide on whether and if the MVFC gets 5 bids including the AQ and then the CAA will get 2 including the AQ.Coversely,if the MVFC gets in 4, the CAA will get 3.

I could see Ur getting in and hope they do. It would be good experience for this team to get in the playoffs as I think they will be much better in the fall. UR being good against the run will bode well for the fall season and we will see improvement in some other areas. This is a top 4 CAA team and with a normal fall season and 24 teams in the playoffs this is a playoff team.
