Bring a Stone to JMU

I'm not sure what we need stones for, but I'm guessing I'll need a ticket in advance. They seem to have a lot of people attending games. Where can I buy tickets & sit with other Richmond U fans?

"Richmond U" fans? You probably are not aware that most JMUers refer to us as "RU" instead of "UR". A JMU education is so low they cannot use the correct "UR".

On to game talk. How are we going to take down Goliath? They have one of the best run defenses in the country and their offense absolutely dominated UNH this past week. I know our top two RBs are out, but will our OL be able to withstand their defense? Do we know if Joe More will be back to help. We need to stay strong and we can beat them in their own stadium. I feel like if we stick to short passes to the boundary, then we can really drive the ball downfield

We need to incorporate some sort of trickery this weekend... seems to be the only downfall of James Madison's defense.

With the lack of running backs...I anticipate seeing two QB's in at the same time. But I wouldn't stray too far from what works.

We need to open up the field horizontally to provide for running and passing lanes vertically. We have to play hard and ultra-aggressively defensively...every ball carrier or pass catcher has to be hit and hit hard by multiples.

Use the TE to run routes and throw an occasional pass their way. It will open up the run game and open up targets for the passing game. Right now Richmond's opponents don't have to worry much about the TE. Show confidence in the run game. Sure, I know we're down a few guys, but the players are up for the challenge. Don't abandon plays that work just to give them "another look" at a play they've never seen. More play action. Call plays that build upon one another. Have a great special teams plan. Last but not least, be prepared to make adjustments!

As a fan of both teams, I say UR has made strides but they aren't in JMU's league. Most of the CAA isn't either so those wins over Delaware, Stony Brook and Maine don't mean much. That said, anything can happen in a rivalry game and Richmond looks so far out of it they could catch the Dukes napping especially at home given the history of this series. Spiders defense is respectable and the offense with Mancuso clicking finally looks like a varsity unit. The absence of a running game isn't that big a deal for UR as nobody (including WVA) runs on that front 7. Richmond's best shot is to pressure DiNucci, hit some timely passes, not run too many QB draws (JMU will surely have a spy backer as they did against Towson and their QB Flacco) and try to hang around until the 4th quarter and then run some deception. English should be important with the HB option. In football the best team usually wins but ....
