Blue Helmets

The Schutt F7 is a good modern helmet. On the Schutt store it runs $700. Not sure about bulk, but there are cheaper helmets on that site.

One thing about this - as a player you get very attached to your helmet from a comfort and fit perspective. They get broken-in and formed to your head. It is not easy to just switch helmets from a player point of view. Not sure how that plays into this...

Great point —white helmets are a dramatic improvement in comfort and weight compared to the blue helmets, though I agree that blue does look nicer.

One year Jim Reid (sp?) Had 'em in plain dark blue helmets with no logos or numerals!
