Conventional wisdom would seem to have us somewhere between 2 and 4 seed if we win out. We'd probably be right around the 8th seed or first team unseeded if we go 9-2.

Well since I flubbed my previous post, let me try again in response to 32's comment above.
Let's face it, the Southland is not close to a strong conference. Central Arkansas may give SHSU a game, but it is a home game for SHSU. I agree, they could win out.

I'd rate their UNH and Maine wins on par with Albany at this point but see where you're coming from.
Would like the Dukes to come to The Brick House with the same overrated mindset and PR machine as last season....
We are unbeatable, a steamroller, best team in FCS, best fans in FCS, best FCS stadium built with aluminum and finally the best marching band in the land...how could we lose?
Only worry is they seem to have a real coach in H-Burg now....

Yea was really hoping Withers woulda stayed so the wheels would come off. Hope he gave Vas Lee some of his new paycheck.
We're not sneaking up on the Pukes this year. Forget about it. They actually have a competent head coach for the first time in about a decade too.
His team last year,The Citadel,remains undefeated and ranked higher than UR or JMU at this juncture.He left the cupboard plenty full in Chucktown and can obviously recruit,even at The Citadel.

Agree with Mo and 32, Pukes do have a good coach. However, I'll take Rocco late in the year with an extra week to prepare. Not to mention I don't think the Bob Trott led D they have is very good. We should be able to control the ball with the running game.
Oh yeah. I'm not saying Houston is better than Rocco by any stretch and i'm also not saying we're going to lose. I just know that we're going to get JMU's best shot, whatever that means.
I happen to think the Everitt Withers was a pretty crummy coach and that Mickey got to be pretty darn crummy during the end of his term there too.
We know we will have the 5 to 10 yard out available against Trott whenever we want it!
I believe it will come down more to our ability to control the Dillweeds' (a FRS term) running game. Lead the league by a mile with over 300yds/g.
On a positive note, Spiders first in CAA in pass offense - JMU last in conference in pass defense....
but getting well ahead of ourselves, Spiders have a game to win tomorrow! Every indication is the team is focused and ready.
