Around the CAA

Reading the Delaware message board as I listen to Hens getting mauled in Fargo. Bizzzzon by 28 at end of 1st quarter. Too funny. Ya'll need to read the Delaware/NDSU game thread. A lot of it sounds so familiar. 35-0, now. Lol

Towson at Delaware might be the FCS game of the week. Rumor has it Joe Flacco will be at the Tub to cheer on his little brother Tom against his alma mater.

Perhaps those by FRS?

The more I read FRSs comments about the state of the UR athletic program, the more I think he makes sense. I'm surprised more people haven't seen the wisdom this man possesses.

After seeing the light, I believe we are going to be in the ODAC in 2021 for all sports except men's lacrosse (where Queally will bribe the NCAA to allow that to remain D1 a la Johns Hopkins). Football will be secondary to Lacrosse, if not dropped outright.

The "basketball practice facility" that Queally is building? E-Sports - the wave of the future. The Robins Center will be reconfigured to allow a quidditch practice facility.

How can this not spell success and excellence in athletics, and be well received by the student body as well as the community?

Hopefully all those esport student-athletes hail from our fine commonwealth! Unless they're from Harrisonburg....what a bunch of dillweeds!

:eek::eek: the end of the Albany-Stony Brook game. A bunch of CAA teams not named Maine and JMU will be sweating tonight.

Albany won with last second field goal that hit the bottom post. This was after Stony Brook scores with 19 seconds to take the lead.

Field goal:

Full game highlights

My prediction of teams who get in:

Maine, JMU, Stony Brook, Delaware (unfortunately), and Towson.

That cancelled game against W&M is going to come back and bite Elon. Delaware beat both Towson and Elon head-to-head. Can’t see Delaware getting left out with Towson and/or Elon getting in instead

I agree that Delaware will probably get in but I'm satisfied with Rocco losing a nights sleep, at least. What a horrible performance by the Hens today.

Perhaps. Elon beat JMU and doesn't have a bad loss. Elon also beat Furman, a fellow bubble team at 6-4, by a score of 45-7.
Delaware has 2 bad losses; now SBU has one, too.
They might all get in. The bubble is exceptionally weak, and NC A&T backed into the Celebration Bowl, opening up another at large spot.

Wouldn't be surprised if Delaware gets an early date with JMU, and SBU with Maine. The committee loves to match teams from the same conference that missed each other in the regular season.

Good call on JMU/Delaware. Hope it ends in a tie and a sinkhole developes as they line up for OT and sucks them all down.

Good draw for us Spiders fans. Delaware to lose to JMU in opening round and then JMU will either lose to Colgate or NDSU.

My team to root for this post season is Maine. Go Black Bears!

Three Big Sky seeds, all on the same side. If Maine advances, they're going to have some hefty travel.

Would work better to seed all 24 teams and have the match-ups based on seeding. That likely would involve more overall travel but would definitely be more equitable.

Glad to see Elon get in but thought you had to have at least 7 d1 wins? They get a waiver or something?

Not true about the 7 wins requirement. There have been At Large teams at 6-5 in the past.

Is the Elon Quarterback healthy again? If so, i like their chances to make some noise. I also think things setup OK for Maine.

All I can think about is Richmond going 8-3 in 2012 (Rocco's first year) and NOT getting in, which may have been the only time that a CAA team with 8 wins didn't get in the playoffs.

That was a 16-team event. Since they expanded to 24 it’s much easier to get in (like the men’s basketball tourney)

Is it weird to want to spend Thanksgiving Saturday in Harrisonburg rooting against both teams?
I wish it was possible for both to lose. Since that is impossible, I will pull for the Hens to win. I will NEVER pull for those Dillweeds to win! I hate 'em and I cannot stand their obnoxious and hair brained fan base!

Mike Houston was....um....entertaining on the selection show.

The 2012 tournament was a 20 team field, not a 16 team event.

Good grief the CAA gets 6 bids and we aren’t one of them or even close Huesman you got a lot to do
