Lots of early season excitement and happenings, not even one week into the OOC.

St. Bonnies - See link. No idea who is involved, but local newspaper saying if this holds up and lose these players they would be lucky to get to 10 wins.

Dayton - Very impressive to start the season, considering they lose their best player. Archie is probably gone after this year is my guess. JMU transfer Cooke so far as good as advertised.

VCU - Despite the practice reports on here, and Ulla's declaration that they are bad despite being 20 points better than Georgetown - they would appear to be a contender at the top of the A10 again this year. Despite some huge recruiting losses with Shaka leaving, they still had some of the best rated recruits in the conference from past classes - and added a proven grad transfer.

URI - Devastating blow to lose EC Matthews. Luckily for them, probably their deepest position at the 2G spot. Front court depth was bigger issue. Again, grad transfer Four McGlynn looks like a huge pick up in wake of losing Matthews. By no means is he the dynamic player or presence of EC, but is a shooter and proven commodity at that spot. May still have enough to contend for a top 4 spot, but need a lot to go right and some unproven guys to step up (Iverson, Jared Terrell)

GW - Huge win over a very very good UVA team, sets them firmly as title contender in A10. Great front court, benefitting from Wake transfer. Seem primed to bounce back from slump last year.

Spiders - Not shocked by the JMU loss. One proven back court scorer in college basketball is a recipe to struggle. Need to develop a second guard and fast. Fore or Jesse, Jesse or Fore. Probably need a lot from both. Not discounting Trey, but he is more of an athletic forward, not the skill set of a guard. I like our front court talent in TJ, Terry and Wood. Need Trey and Deion to focus on their strengths and give minutes, but other guys to score the ball. Between losing Josh, and not adding a grad transfer in the back court, I feel a little like ShawnDre has a lot on his plate to start the season, and with bulk of our big games soon.

Nice write up hoping we have a bunch of top 50 win opportunities in conference. Let's see what we can do with it.

Agree. It would also be great to get some of our own scalps OOC to help everyone else when we get into conference play. Tomorrow night would be a great time to start that off.
