Ho hum - another rookie of the week award for Grant (had not seen it mentioned here). Congrats again to Grant on such a strong year. We are so fortunate to have him going forward.

Anyone still think that Grant is not the real deal? He is doing the same things the Ulla saw him do in high school. Three more years!

Think that we have a tendency to expect high performance from him, maybe glossing over what he has done. His freshman numbers are incredible. Extremely impressive for a first year player.

Looks like the three some of us were very high on at the beginning of last year are certainly as advertised. Nick, Buck & Grant have been amazing to watch. They will get much better. Fore and Gilyard are real gems also. Now let’s find them some help!!!!

I have given you your fair share of criticism Ulla, and while I knew GG was very good... I didn't know he was THIS good! You got that one right.
But having Hans Brase in hand woulda probably made our early OOC record respectable as GG matured (just sayin'!)

I know we all wanted Brase - but just for some perspective, he just finished his season averaging 4 rebounds and 2 points per game on 29% shooting for a 13-17 team. Could he have helped us some? Probably so. Would he have played big minutes and made a huge impact? Looks like probably not.

Maybe maybe not. Big12 was a big boy league this year. Hans knows how to pick them, deciding between two teams with losing records.

Hopefully the Brase tale is one that whoever our coach is this offseason will be telling prospective grad transfers. "Hey, you could go to a big school and score 2 points a game and lose, or you could come here and score 10 points a game. And maybe still lose, but hey!"

Barring a major run by them or us, he would be sitting at home in March either way. Only now he will have an Iowa State degree instead of UR.
