AD Basketball update

I don't like it, either. It's been a long term relationship that's hopefully taking just a short break. If it goes away completely then it's another one of Hardt's middle fingers to the MBB program. If we replaced Wake with someone like UVA or even Georgetown then that's fine, but I don't see that happening.

Maybe Wake was done playing us. Why get mad at Hardt when we don't even know the reason?

Apparently two of the sub-regional teams have been secured, though not officially announced that I can find:

Green Bay (Horizon) NET 190
CSUN (Big West) NET 272

Hopefully we get the mystery NCAA team Hardt mentioned. Home games against these two (Quad 4 likely) won't do much to bolster our OOC.

Wisco will definitely get Green Bay. So we have 1 out of 3 shot on them. I think they would be ok. No team out of the remaining 4 is gonna really bolster our OOC, but we want to avoid hurting it. Green Bay typically plays a solid schedule and I think has a decent team returning. Easy choice over CSUN, which I doubt will be flying all the way to Richmond anyway.

What's interesting is this lists other 2 as TBA, and has some type of scheduling consultant listed as a contact. However Hardt already said 1 was NCAA (GB & CSUN don't fit) so don't know if they're really still looking for teams, maybe 1. Also does this guy Sharka get paid as much as Joe Freaking Lunardi? Little comp there Lunardi. But don't worry we'll gladly overpay for Joey Bags and get nothing out of it.

Yes, that is where I saw those two names. According to that site, many of the nearby AQs (Gardner-Webb, Liberty, UNC Central) are already committed to other tourneys.

Fairleigh Dickinson? Northeastern? Abilene Christian? I think we'll end up with this as an "NCAA" surprise.

Because of the A10s slide aren't our chances for an at large bid determined, for the most part, by our out of conference performance? Now more than ever?

league was young last year and it showed in the OOC. A10 finished 12th. can't remember a year that low. a team needed to tear up the OOC last year to have an at-large chance.
but this year should be more like normal. a team can make up ground with a strong in-conference record. A10 should be back to top 8.

Vandy big man is staying in the draft so that game’s value has likely gone down.
