About West Virginia

We’re going to struggle on the boards with WVa. They gave Gonzaga all they wanted, if wva 3 centers hadn’t all gotten into foul trouble wva probably would have won.

We struggled with Kentucky too, defense wins the day if are able to play.

Cmon Annap, he really could not have done much in a covid few weeks on campus. I saw Weir cheering enthusiastically at the Kentucky game, which is encouraging
I want to be wrong, seriously. It just seemed so strange to have a recruit with his initial accolades to be in street clothes.
But, as I said- I want to be wrong.

College can be a big adjustment for kids. It could be for something as simple as skipping a class....a subject I now a fair bit about.....lets not prosecute/amateur sleuth on the message boards an 18 year old whom we know little about.....let the coaching staff handle it.

Looks like this game was picked up by ESPN same Sunday time slot we got vs Kentucky.
Excellent news. This will turn out to be a great game for us. WVU has big trees inside and we will have our hands full. Although they have had troubles with passing and ball security.

Going to be a tough matchup. Huggins plays mug you defense, daring the refs to foul his entire team out of the game. We’re going to have to know there is contact coming, and it won’t be called every time.

Like when we played Kansas in the Sweet 16. They mugged us every time down the court. Same with St. Louis last year, when they broke Francis` sternum.

West Virginia has a chance to be a top 10 team team when we play them, based on a number of teams above them losing. They played Gonzaga pretty close.

It's nearly half time in the WVU and Georgetown game. Both teams are shooting around 32%. So far, McBride is WVU's only double figure scorer, with 11 in the first half. Their front line players are 6'10', 6'9", and 6'7".

Georgetown is terrible.. Kentucky down to a dreadful Ga tech unit. Aztecs had 7 points in the first 10 minutes, and down to pepperdine. Not a good college hoops Sunday. Need Wva and Kentucky to rally.

gTown had already hosted and lost to Navy by 7.

Interesting with scheduling, a few recent years looked bad, but turned out OK. Hopefully not the reverse this year. I think we are good enough to overcome this year, and A10 will be solid. But Kentucky looking poor. I know its early and they are young, but not good.

VCU gave them a game with a bunch of 6’5” twigs. I suspect we will be ok.

they have eight guys over the random height you decided to throw out there and so do we. I think it will be tough obviously they have the monsters down low that are going to get theirs, we need to get it done everywhere else. This game is the only one left on the non conference schedule that will move the needle in the positive direction. Walk out with a W, higher ranking, and bragging rights over the Richmond Community College and I will be happy!

West Virginia's game against Robert Morris has been cancelled. RMU just resumed practice after a COVID break and they have to shut down again. This is their fifth cancelled game. Gives WVU more time to prepare for us but also means they will not have played a game in 7 days. Hope they are a little rusty.

The whole rusty due to layoff vs team being tired for having played 3 games in 6 days. I don't give credence to either. These are 20 year old kids, both teams will be ready and the chips will fall where they may.

But yeah, hopefully, WVU is rusty as hell.

The interesting thing to me is that it appears WVU has basically played the same game five times so far, against a wide range of opponents. All the games have been pretty close, whether against Gonzaga, SD State or Georgetown or whoever else. We are definitely due for a really solid offense game, but I’m not sure if facing that defense will be the way to get it or not. Though I will say that yet seem to be giving up a decent number of points so far.
