A10 MLAX tourney

Even through 3Q.

Joe’s Size and strength took over in 4Q

Finishing 10-6 very respectable

6 losses were to bigger, stronger teams

St. Joe's was too strong for us. We have 5 NCAA Tournament appearances but not this year. All losses to ranked teams. Congratulations to the team for a good season.

Congrats to the Hawks, back to the drawing board for us.

Our inability to clear 20-28 was a killer

As was the last game of regular season with Joes,17-24 was a killer

When you forego those many offensive possessions/scoring opportunities, you’re not gonna get a W

It puts a ton of added pressure on your defense,

We never overcame the Joes 10 man ride.Achilles heal.

Virginia getting lots of love from committee with 4 game losing skid while Hawks/Hawk Hill on 12 game win streak. Virginia schedule tougher with all 4 losses to ACC teams including 2 to outstanding Notre Dame. Just hope officiating is even handed.

UPSET ALERT

Saint Joseph’s vs. Virginia

What has ailed Virginia intermittently all season, even before the Cavaliers lost four in a row for the first time since 2013? An inconsistent defense.

So, to have the Hawks (12-3), winners of the Atlantic 10, roll into Charlottesville with three 30-goal scorers (Levi Anderson, Matt Bohmer and Carter Page) and an offense littered with slick sticks? It’s probably not an ideal setup for Lars Tiffany’s team.

Saint Joseph’s, with much of the same cast of characters, created all kinds of problems in an 18-16 loss at Yale in its NCAA tournament debut two years ago. The Hawks weren’t far away from pulling a surprise that day and are plenty capable of finishing the job on Saturday.

I think MD got a bid on their history. Reminds me when Carolina used to get asked to every basketball tour

Virginia prevails over Hawks 17-11. Hawk's ride did well in first quarter but after that pretty much all Virginia due to powerful offense. Payton Cormier scored eight goals, the most ever scored by a Cavalier in an NCAA Tournament game and one shy of the NCAA record, breaking the NCAA's all-time record for most career goals and the Virginia program record for most goals in a season. Virginia seeding in tournament turned out to be well deserved. ACC has some powerful teams - particularly Notre Dame, Duke, Virginia, and can't overlook Syracuse. Will be no surprise if one of them wins tournament with Big Ten being their strongest competition.

All 8 seeded MLAX NCAA tournament teams won on their home fields. No doubt about home field advantage. Remaining games played at designated sites. Quarter finals are at Hempstead, NY and Towson, Md, and then Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia for the Final Four.

I think it speaks to the tremendous job coach Chemotti and staff have done with this program for the past 10 years when I say, this year was a disappointment for our men's lacrosse program. With all the talent we had returning to go 0-4 against the big boys (all at home) and not win either the regular season or conference tournament is surely disappointing. I know we can't expect a great year every year and that Chemotti will reload as he always does. The fact that our expectations are as high as it is with this program is a testament to the amazing job he has done in building this program. A10 Mlax is definitely a better conference too with St. Joe's, UMass, and High Point.
