Nick should have been at least preseason 3rd team all conference. I guess this’ll add more field to the fire tonprover the doubters wrong
I think nick is a good player with potential for greatness, but he hasn’t shown the consistency yet. He has flashes/games when he is certainly all conference. Then there are games and portions of others where he completely disappears. I think that’s very normal for a young player, and he can (and hopefully will) improve on that consistency, but until then he doesn’t deserve to be on these lists.
If consistency were limited to just the conference portion of the schedule, then I'd agree. He was definitely inconsistent in OOC. His point totals ranged from 2-14 and he had 5 of 12 OOC games where he didn't score in double digits. In his first 15 games, he was in single digits 7 of the 15. He definitely got it going for the final 17 games though where he only had 2 single digit games. This was also true in rebounding, where he was averaging less than 4rpg OOC but then was over 6rpg IC. There was a definite disparity in his OOC vs IC performance.Hasn't shown consistency? He was one of the most consistent players in A-10 play last year. How many games are you saying he disappeared from? He had a bad shooting game in the 1st round tourney game, but before that he had scored in double figures in 15 of the 16 previous games, including 6 with 20 or more points, and 13 of the 16 with 14 or more. Included in that stretch was a 13 game run where he had 17 or more in 11 of them. Also, in that 16 game stretch, he shot 50% of better in 13 of them, and 2 of the ones he did not, he went 10 for 21 and 9 for 20.
Add in that he made 39% overall from 3, 80% from the FT line, and was a top ten returning scorer in the conference, and he probably should have been on the 2nd team all A-10.

I think it's fair to say he was inconsistent over the year and over the first two years, which as noted, is to be expected from a fr/so player.
I see what you’re doing here...Agree with VT here, Nick scored 17.5/game once conference play hit, that is consistent and I'll take that all day. Gilly 1st team preseason A10 all defense and Grant 1st team over all, probably will be in consideration for POY in A10. Mooney has top shelf A10 talent this year. Cayo is a solid role player, and if improved could be very good. JJ may not be the most beloved on this board, but he has been through the battles. Needs to channel that Maryland game from a couple years back. Bottom line is, I am seeing the talent to be top 3-5 in the A10. This is on Moon.
If we finish number 5, Moon gets a C to B grade
Top 4 finish is a solid B. Top 3 B+. 1st or 2nd is A.
6 or below is F minus and hiding behind Queally.
Sample size matters at some point. He has been consistent recently but wasn’t so consistent before. I think both your and nathan19 have valid perspectives. Hopefully nick continues the current trend, he can certainly take over a game when he’s on.I guess we can differ on how we describe consistency. I think an inconsistent player is one who was up and down throughout the whole season. Seems strange to say a guy who had some tough OOC games early when positions and roles were far from set and then turned it on and delivered nearly every night in conference play needs more consistency going into this season. Conference play seems more telling, especially since it is the most recent set of games to look at. So, when I see a guy perform at a high level for all but 1 or 2 of the final 16 games of the season, that seems very consistent to me.
Me too. I couldn't figure out the bipolar "love Mooney / hate Mooney", but now I get it. And, in looking for that movie "Split" with the bipolar guy who kidnaps girls, came across this synopsis in IMDB:I see what you’re doing here...
