A Day that will Live in Infamy

A-10 will be a one bid league this year for sure. STL taken to the wire by Drake.

Simply cannot have a coach in his 18th year with an experienced team of good players getting blown the hell out twice in its first 11 games and losing to a 275+ team too. Pathetic.
Glad no one could see this game. Only a few of us idiots went through the trouble to find it and only parents and maintenance crew attended.

Fan of the year 2nd year running!

It seemed like a good spot to show we had turned the corner and would be a team to be reckoned with going forward. Instead it seems like we will either be the puncher, or the punched. Clemson is a lower tier ACC team. Went to their board before the game, and bunch of threads about Brownell, not one about this game or expressing optimism for the season.

Turned the game on last night, saw we were down 25 points, turned it right back off and watched Hallmark with the wife....much more enjoyable.
I hardly care enough to post anymore.
Terminal Apathy is setting in.

Brownell has been at Clemson for 13 years and been to the tournament 3 times (including 1 Sweet Sixteen appearance) so you can see how their fans are pretty underwhelmed by the program at the moment. I mean 13 years and only 3 tournament appearances...what kind of fanbase would possibly put up with such subpar results?

Like us, the more recent years have been good and justify keeping him. Clemson has danced twice the past 5 seasons, including a sweet 16. If you are a football school like them playing in the ACC, I think you take that. But, I know....that's just crazy me setting small goals and being okay with that when most fans just want to fire everyone.

I was actually in the boat hoping Mooney would take the BC job way back when. And I liked him at that point, but just thought our best model was to continue to find the JB type of guy - hell of a game coach at all levels, hungry to move up. Still think that may be our best model.
I would say be careful what you wish for. You can talk about a couple games all you want this year, but I think our program is in real good shape.

A couple games? We have 6 losses, all 6 were embarrassing because we either got blown out or blew a last minute lead. How about just a close game where we don’t have to overcome a 15 point first half deficit just to blow a 5 point lead with 2 minutes left

Fact of the matter is that in early December, the season was already down to hoping that we can win the A10 tournament. And I suspect we already spent that golden ticket last year. Probably not going to get another one right away.

What are u talking about??? I was talking about wanting to get an up and coming coach every 4 to 7 years instead of handing out 10 year fat cat contracts. Yes u will miss in some coaches but you can reboot in 3 years. This Mooney model just got old year after year, amoeba defense slowly but surely went south.
