I don't care whose fault it was, but it's on Mooney. What a joke. Costs us the game.

VCU was much more composed than us down the stretch. They made adjustments in game, we didn't. Wade out coached Mooney.

Sucks for our players who battled the entire game.

what was the score and time left at the Technical?

Brutal loss we really needed that win more than the Rams. Give 'em credit they took advantage our weak weak D. Mooney should have shook Wade's hand don't care how pissed you are that you gave the game away. Another season looking to be lost. Tough pill to swallow. Lost in all this was Trey's effort, he kept us in the game.

I'm actually glad he didn't shake Wade's hand, I just wish he showed that kind of fire DURING the game once in a while. I guess all Lamb coaches now have the right to run onto the court anytime they want, Smart started that and it continues with Wade. I thought Wade should have gotten a technical running to the middle of the court during the six player incident.

There was a recent game, I think with Western Kentucky, where the last play of the game gave the team with 6 players the win.........and the refs did not catch it. Game over, refs leave the building, score stands. Great coaching!
Everyone has been asking Mooney to do something different.....just didn't work...bummer.

Are there any restrictions as to what the officials can replay on the tv monitor and overturn or overrule? If they didn't catch the six players on the court when it happened, how can they stop the game and review it just because that loudmouth Wade came screaming on the court?

The refs should not have stopped the game and teed up Wade for running onto the court. Who is calling the game? The refs or Wade? There were at least two times when the Lambs were messing around and did not come to the ball for out of bounds or free throws. The refs should have set the ball on the court and started the clock - 5 seconds for out of bounds. The refs were very differential to Wade and the Rams.

I have no respect for Wade after watching him throughout the game. He is a whiney violent little POS like Dan Hurley.

Quote from post game article on CBS Sports news.

"This was the kind of game the A10 needs, both in style of play AND HOW IT ENDED. In truth, the conference is shaping up to be a three bid league. If the A10 wants to get its best teams in the best position to earn quality seeding, VCU is going to have to win a lot of games."

That's about the closest thing to saying there might be favoritism that I have ever seen issued by national media source.

I agree. Especially since that is not a very impressive vdu team. Shadow of its former self. But good enough to beat the lower teams in conference including us. A10 is down this year and they have a real shot to win it all even with their less than impresxive team.

Trey ran off the court in the middle of the play. The refs were not going to just let that go. Wade going out on the court was over the top but they had to call that. Think about it if that was VCU that had 6 on the court and their player ran off in the middle of a play. Don't let our hatred for Wade/VCU cloud your thinking on this one. It is completely on the Spiders, meaning Mooney.

Believe the usual protocol is one of the assistants is responsible for verifying the correct players are on the floor after a stoppage of play. You wouldn't want your head coach that far down in the weeds during a game. NO excuse. Should not have happened, but I don't put it on CM.

Mooney said put it on him in the press conference. Some of the reporters tried to get Mooney to put it on the officials for not counting the players before putting the ball in play, but he wasn't having it.

Ultimately the blame does go on Mooney, but geez we 24 assistants and non-playing players and trainers and managers and doctors and video coordinators, can't anyone else count to 6?

Apparently will wade can. Glad money owned it, behind the scenes someone better be getting their ass chewed out...

Apparently hoosfan can't figure out which institution of higher learning he's a fan of.

Not proper for the coach to run onto the court while the game is in progress. Think about it - if coaches ran onto the court every time they thought the refs made an error the game would not move very quickly. The rules are very precise that a coach can not run onto the court while the game is in progress. Eight Legger has the analysis correct - double technical should have been called. As was the case with his predecessor Wade showed by his actions that he doesn't think the rules apply to him and the refs acted that way. As I mentioned in my earlier post in this thread: The refs were very differential to Wade and the Rams.

Win or lose, I am happy that Wade is not our coach. He is not well spoken, does not comport himself well, is seemingly unstable, and comes off as a bit of a hick. OSC

Surprised to learn he never played at his school Clemson. He was a manager who turned it into a coaching career. I don't know the stats on how many D-1 coaches ever played in college, but I'm sure most did (D1, 2, 3, NAIA).
