Workmanlike 11 to 6 win. HP goalie kept it close.
You’re right , but I think we played rather workmanlike and just went about doing business. Nothing wrong with that, but I was puzzled why we were not more energetic against a good High Point team.
The final score makes my observation weak, but I stand by it, as you said.

17) UMass
Minutemen are on the verge of a ten-win season (9-3) for coach Greg Cannella, with victories over Rutgers, St. Joe’s, Dartmouth, Albany, and Vermont. Trace Hogan, Aidan Drunsic, and Robbie Granara are leading the way. The Gorillas face Richmond on Saturday.

14) Saint Joseph’s
Hawks (9-3) have won nine of their last ten games, the latest over Hobart. Richie LaCalandra put up eight points and Ben Dutton scored five times. Hawks face High Point next.

13) Richmond
Spiders (9-3) stung High Point 11-6 on Senior Day to improve to (3-0) in the A10. Going 7-for-21 on face-offs wasn’t ideal, but the defense, led by Mitchell Dunham (6 GBs and 5 CTs), limited High Point to 25 shots. A critical game with UMass is next on the calendar. The Atlantic 10 trio of UMass, St. Joe’s, and Richmond are all having stellar seasons. The A10 winner is a nasty draw in the round of 16.

If we were halfway decent with face-offs, this would be a final four caliber team. We still are a dark horse for that too, which tells us just how good of a job Chemotti and Richards have done in building this program.

"dark horse" to win Natty is huge compliment................concerning faceoffs Chenoy did not play against High Point and has seen limited/measured play because of injury............he is our best face off player and hopefully will be more available in coming games. Assistant Coach Jack Kearney works with defense and faceoff specialists and we are giving the attention to faceoffs that is possible............We are number 52 in faceoff winning percentage by team and improvement would certainly help.............

From the article great writeup:

Unsung Hero: Max Merklinger, Sr., Attack
While I still believe Mitchell Dunham (28CT, 32GB) doesn’t get enough love in a defense that boasts Hunter Smith and Jack Pilling and is the 10th-most efficient unit after Week 10, the fact that he was MAAC DPOY at Mount St. Mary’s last year is reason enough to shout out someone else here. Plus, the offense is two spots higher in IL’s adjusted efficiency ratings at No. 8 at the moment. Aidan O’Neil is the headliner at attack and Lucas Littlejohn has endeared himself to college fans with some of the smoothest mitts and quickest releases in the game. But it’s been a joy to watch Max Merklinger come into his own as the reliable third option. He’s got a balanced 19-goal, 13-assist output, can create his own shot and can let it fly with both hands.

NCAA Men's Lacrosse Week 11 Preview: Odds, TV and More | USA Lacrosse

No. 19 UMass (9-3, 2-1 A-10) at No. 12 Richmond (9-3, 3-0 A-10)
Sat 12 pm EDT | Watch: ESPN+ | DK: Richmond -4.5

Massachusetts storyline to watch: UMass has been one of the most pleasant surprises in the country this year. Despite heavy graduation losses, at 9-3, UMass already has its most wins in a season since going 10-5 in 2019. The future could be even better. Freshman Robbie Granara leads the team with 30 goals and freshman goalie Owen Salanger has a 61.2 save percentage.

Richmond storyline to watch: Richmond owns non-league wins over Georgetown and Virginia and nearly beat Cornell and Duke — losing to both by a goal. This could be a special season for a program that has played in the conference championship game every year of its existence and has made five NCAA tournament appearances since 2014. But it has some obstacles to get through first, namely closing the regular season with its top two challengers in the A-10, UMass and Saint Joseph’s.

Spiders win 14-5 and secure the #1 overall seed and at least a share of A10 title with Saint Joseph’s losing to High Point 11-9. If I’m understanding the standings, the Hawks will be 4th regardless of outcome against our game if UMass beats Hobart. Otherwise, the highest they can be is 3rd. We may very well play the hawks in back-to-back games in Philly. Would love to get the outright title.

On another note. Great day for the spiders. We secure 2 A10 titles today. 1) A10 WGolf and 2) A10 MLax Regular season (at least co-share)
