2025 MLAX Schedule

At 5-3 going into the GTown game in DC,we have little margin of error to remain in Top 20 at this juncture.

We are basically identical to the Hoyas in the polls with Joes and UMASS in the Top 20 and right behind us.

14) Richmond

The Spiders (5-3) have played an insane non-conference schedule, with their three losses coming against Duke in double overtime, Maryland, and a one-goal loss to Cornell. The double OT loss at home to Duke stings because Richmond had chances to win. Anish fired this game up on his iPad, and we were watching on ESPN+ in the Klöckner booth prior to UVA and Maryland. Joe Sheridan had a strong day for Richmond. The Spiders travel to DC this week.

13) Georgetown

The Swamp Dogs (5-2) looked sluggish in a 17-10 win over High Point after a bye weekend. The game was closer than the final score, as the Hoyas pulled away by winning the fourth quarter 6-0. Kevin Miller and Aidan Carroll both had five-point days.

Richmond and Georgetown play this week in what could be considered an NCAA at-large survival game. The Big East foursome of Georgetown, Denver, Providence, and Villanova all have current RPIs outside the Top 20. Georgetown’s wins have come against teams with a combined record of (11-24), so the resume isn’t tournament-ready

#14 RICHMOND (5-3) AT #12 GEORGETOWN (5-2)

Sat 12 p.m. EST | Watch:
FLO | DK: Georgetown -1.5

Richmond storyline to watch:
The Spiders have to win one of these games, don't they? After upsetting Virginia to vault into the national rankings, they've pushed Cornell and Duke to the brink in a pair of one-goal losses. Richmond scored six fourth-quarter goals and led Duke late in the fourth quarter before the Blue Devils battled back to win in double overtime. Seriously, who's more battle tested than Richmond? The Spiders' non-conference slate has included Maryland, Cornell, Virginia, Duke and now Georgetown. Their defense and exceptional goaltending by Zach Vigue has kept them in every game, and Canadian Lucas Littlejon is enjoying a breakout sophomore season with 18 goals, including hat tricks the last two games.

Georgetown storyline to watch: The Hoyas have taken care of business against Brown, Albany and High Point. Have they cured their shooting woes? Georgetown is middle of the pack in shooting percentage (29.7%) but look more closely at its offensive performance against its three top opponents (Johns Hopkins, Penn and Notre Dame) and it's sub-20 percent. If Vigue gets hot, there's legitimate concern.
