the Fighting Camels will host the Spiders in beautiful Buies Creek, NC...years ago now, I played a lot of golf on their University owned golf course, Keith Hills...I never dreamed we'd be playing Campbell in a November football game that should have CAA Championship and FCS Playoff implications

Campbell was the best of the 2023 CAA newcomers at 4-4 in the conference...you may recall the Spiders trounced them 44-13 by scoring 28 unanswered 4th quarter points at The Brick House...the 4th quarter collapse was indicative of the Camels defense last season...one of new head coach Braxton Harris' focal points with his defense has been to "flip" the 4th quarter from last seasons' 105-68 deficit...

Harris' new Offensive Coordinator will be looking to find a QB that can lead a talented and experienced group of RBs and a potentially good offensive line...

on CAA Media Day Campbell was picked to finish 11th in the 16 team conference...

the Spiders won some very tough November road games last season...this one figures to be another real test...its probably Campbell's last shot at Richmond in Buies Creek...Richmond better be ready for a battle in this must win game...

if you're traveling to Campbell and get there early enough you might be able to slip in 18 holes before your tailgate...

enjoy the Countdown!

Go Spiders!

Box Score

Chandler Brayboy accounted for 309 all-purpose yards, including eight receptions for 183 yards and 2 TD’s, as Elon (3-6, 2-3 CAA) topped Campbell (3-6, 1-4 CAA), 50-27. The two teams combined for 943 yards in the offensive shootout.

Brayboy had a 66-yard TD grab on Elon’s first offensive play, but Campbell used a 70-yard scoring catch from Sincere Brown to pull within 16-13 early in the second quarter. The Phoenix responded with 27 unanswered points to put the game away, including a 36-yard strike to Brayboy on the opening drive of the second half and a 6-yarder to Dylan Magazu that made it 43-13 late in the third period. Rushawn Baker also had a big day for Elon, running for 154 yards and 3 TD’s, while quarterback Matthew Downing threw for 251 yards and three scores. Campbell quarterback Mike Chandler II was 22-of-39 passing for 355 yards and 4 TD’s and he added 51 yards on the ground. Thanks for the link to coach's 32counter.

Listening to Campbell coach made me go look at their Box Score vs Elon for last Saturday.
Their backup QB threw for 355 yards versus Elon going 22 of 39. He also ran it for net 51 more.
Two separate receivers had over 100 yards as well.

Elon put up 50 points on them, but special teams put defense in terrible situations allowing 44.7 yards per return on 3 kickoffs.

They look better on offense than their record reflects.
Elon also had a big day offensively, however.
