2013 baseball roster

The 2013 baseball roster has been posted on the Spider Web baseball web site. Nine freshmen are listed with one local product from St Christophers. Glad we are still recruiting the Richond area.
Interesting to see that Zink plans to join Mayers and Williams as 5th rear
Seniors. If our pitchers don't experience their usual arm troubles, we might have a very good team this spring.

Does anyone know which of the freshmen are expected to make an instant impact?

DeMarte is on campus and working into shape. It was an arm fracture last year, not an elbow. Team will be stout, but a different team than recent years'. Having Zink back is huge, he will provide great leadership. Williams should have a good year, having Mayers' bat next year is excellent, too. It should be a good combo of small ball and timely power hitting. Pitching should be the strength of the team, last year's freshmen got great experience and should be stronger, Mayers will be there in a pinch, hopefully WIlliams will get to throw more. Blum, Bates, Brockett and Stoops are good and are a year stronger and healthier. Brockett is a stud.


Mayers may be playing C, but Moheit will be available as a starter. Should be at least as good as last season, probably better. Look for freshman Stanley to come in and make an impact.
