The Trump Administration

Trump's incomprehensible blathering today about the air traffic control system in this country clearly shows he's lost his marbles. Time to invoke the 25th Amendment.

America, here is your shadow government, run by DeFacto president Elon.

Ryan Soulis - 2023 Signee

He's got a very nice touch for a big man. Wish, though, he would be a little more aggressive on the offensive end and take it to the rack instead of the turn around jumper, etc.
Agree. He does have a nice looking shot. He did end up taking a few more shots last night. Several games back he had 17 points. Then the next game he reverted to distributor. I just don't think he looks to shoot enough. He's a big physical guy and should be able to push his way into shots under the goal.

I do think Beagle looks to shoot more often than Waltz. He seems to want the ball, and that's good. Last night Soulis also showed he wants the ball. We need the centers to score regularly especially with DH out.

And again I'll say - play 2 of the big guys together & not just on occasion. We have nothing to loose at this point of a losing season to show some different looks.

That drives me nuts. When he gets the ball and immediately turns AWAY from the basket that is exactly what the defense wants every time, and worse yet most of the time he is out by the three point line.

The Trump Administration

The White House press secretary announced yesterday that Elon Musk will disqualify himself if he incurs a conflict of interest while performing his hatchet job on government departments and collects confidential and supposedly secure information from millions, essentially all, of American individuals and businesses. What a joke! All of the Inspectors general have been fired so Musk can do whatever he wants. Now he's screwing around with the FAA, don't think I'll fly for a while.

And the richest man in the world could care less about stopping critical medicine and food to the poorest people in the world by shutting down USAID. I guess if you become the richest man in the world you have no conscience. He and Trump have the biggest egos with no justification, both are narcissists with no regard for the rest of humanity.

I saw mention of Grant at the game. Curious to know how much TJ or Grant worked with Walz and Beagle this off season? Last year I felt like there was a lot of mention of Quinn receiving instruction from one or both, but don't recall hearing anything this off season. I thought Walz was making really good progress first two seasons, and despite bunch on this board touting him, does not seem to have improved on offense. He is always going to be a big physical presence, but was hoping for a bigger jump on the offensive end. Again, maybe did not work out and receive mentorship from those guys like Quinn did. Or maybe Quinn seeked it out, and/or just talked about it more in public.

I thought he looked pretty darn smooth for a 6'10" kid on the drive/spin into a baby hook in the 1st half.
and he was active all over the floor. 8 points, 3 blocked shots, 2 boards, and an assist in only 9 minutes. not a bad night for a kid with 96 minutes played in 2 years with injury issues.

I'm not crowning him or anything. but he needs to play. so do Walz and Beagle.
Agree. He has earned the look for more PT just like GW3 did. No telling if / how Moon uses Soulis from here forward. Hopefully he doesn’t get the scrap mins Moon afforded GW3 after his good game.

Yep. and if u don't play him some at F it increases chances of transfer just due to the PT issue u mention above. unlike sec9 not assuming all 3 will be back. not in this NIL transfer perpetual eligibility era. I want to keep Soulis but he's also most likely candidate to leave given years left. Walz is academically focused and been here 3 - least likely imo. Beagle just transferred in 2024, tho that hasn't stopped many. Now I'm not sure any would have great offers but 3 at the same position they may care more about role idk.

Last night I mentioned the 1st half seemed like a great opportunity to do it with us getting hammered on the O boards.
yeah I meant to write "assuming" all 3 big men will be back - agree with you that is is unlikely .. but sort of thinking Soulis (and Walz) will return. Hope Soulis realizes his potential to be a big impact player here in Mooney's system may be more than elsewhere providing he has strong guards to work with during the next 3 seasons. Time will tell.

NCAA Tournament "at large" candidate University of Richmond Women

beggars cant be choosers. Women have never won a NCAA game (0-4). That is 1st goal. In theory easier from 8/9. Then if u win u can still get some notoriety and attention for program even if u play that next 1 seed game reasonably well. So I won't consider end of world if we're in that game, it means we finished pretty well & in the dance. 7 seed would be great but likely takes only 1 more loss all season. But yeah if u r thinking of s16 run then I agree 10/11 is better path.

We're not going to move up to a 6 or 7 without first passing through 8 and 9 as these bracketologies update, but I agree the 8/9 game sucks.

Don't know if 6 or 7 is even a possibility based on remaining schedule. St. Joe's is Q2 both home and away at the moment. Mason or Joe's in the A-10 tournament neutral also Q2 games. If we win out all the way to the A-10 tournament trophy and are 29–5 on a 19-game win streak heading into Selection Sunday, maybe we get there, but it's a tall order.

Feels like we're mostly treading water in racking up A-10 wins, so have to think we'll drop a couple along the way and we have a little cushion that we can easily hit a 10 or 11 seed.
