Why do we have our big man, Golden or Grace, run out to the three point line and do some bogus attempt to disrupt the point guard while leaving their big alone under the basket? Its as dumb a basketball strategy as Ive ever seen by any team. Golden and Grace then have to try to race back to guard the big and many times they never make it leading to dunks and layups. Seriously, WTF? Is there a Mooney defender who can say how this strategy is effective? Its utter insanity. Trip after trip it leads to a mismatch underneath and dunk after dunk. I really think Mooney is as bad a basketball coach as there is in D1. completely incompetent.

Totally agree that it is a stupid strategy but I‘m not sure that it leads to “dunk after dunk”. A lot of times the ball goes inside and then is kicked back out. Someone more knowledgeable than me can go back over the films and track this action. I will say that the big man racing back to his position is not a good look.

It leads to many easy baskets from what I see. Mismatches in the post or Grant not ready to defend and out of position. It is the most obvious display of us being over aggressive on D for no other reason than to be over aggressive. It leads to nothing positive. We are running around on D like chickens without heads.
JUST GUARD YOUR MAN, or it that too simple for the genius Ivy coach we have?

Pretty sure French would not have beaten us from outside last night so why have Golden and Grace and others chase him all over the perimeter.........just stay in the paint and dare their bigs to fire away from 20 feet.

Other stupid questions that begin with why:
Why do you care?
Why are you here?
Why were you born?

And my personal favorite:
Why does the chicken cross the road?

Philosophy class is now over.

Looks like you answered your own question in the same post............Mooney

to be fair we have tried this in the past. French doesn’t shoot, he just gets a head of steam going and drives right at our big men. They pummeled us with this before. Jimmy bell had like 12 points doing this.

From the pom pom queen who likely never played on a competetive sports team in their life. Listen Gallipompom, those of us who have been athletes and serious competitors sometime in our lives, while also being sports fans of many teams over many years, we see very clearly that you are clueless about sports, especially anything basketball. Please come clean and tell who’s mom or girlfriend you are within the program. Or are u Hardt himself?

Father, you don't have to have been a serious competitive athlete to be able to recognize bad when you see it, especially when you have been watching closely all your life. Some of us were slow and chubby when we were young and didn't blossom until out of school. I don't think I could run a mile in high school, but later in life I was doing sub 45 minute 10ks. At 72 I'm still doing 10ks and playing tennis 6 hours a week and weighed in at 156lbs this morning.

Maybe more to the point, you can have an opposing viewpoint without being a mom, a girlfriend, a member of Mooney's staff, or John Hardt. Many of us were living and dying Richmond basketball long before you (or Chris Mooney) came on the scene.
