1. Top Academic Institution with top ranked Business School. There is a direct correlation between how good a University is academically and how much money the average graduate makes during their careers.

2. He is Mooney’s top choice and would not be inherited from another coach. You never know how the chemistry will workout if you are someone else’s recruit. Sometimes new coaches favor their own recruits. Who knows who will be recruited the following year.

3. His bother has had huge success with Richmond. 3rd team A10, most points by a freshman. He has the potential to break the school’s record for points. Obviously only for one year until Bryce sets a new record.

4. It would be significantly easier and less expensive for their family members to watch both bothers play basketball if they were on the same team. Different teams in different conferences would require a lot more travel and expense.

5. Bryce is the missing link to a team with at least 6 of it’s top 7 players coming back. Great chance of winning multiple A10 championships and NCAA appearances.

7. The Robins Center is one of the nicest basketball arenas in the A10 that ranks 3rd in the A10 for average attendance who will be cheering him on.

8. The University has committed to having a high quality Basketball team. Building new $15 million state of the art basketball practice facility

9. In the past 17 years we have had 24 players go on to play professional basketball

10. Rank as having one of the most beautiful campuses in the US in a great city with WARM weather

11. One of the top fitness centers for students in the country plus warm climate, means high proportion of girls in great shape

12. Strong alumni network to help get jobs when basketball career is over

Love the list. Change #11 to #1 and we have him.

Just to add to this, I’ve seen other posters say Bryce wants to be a physical therapist. Not sure if that’s true, but if it is, UR grads have a very high rate of acceptance into post grad medical programs (I believe for med school it’s 80+%, not sure of a number for PT programs). So even if Bryce doesn’t want to be in the business school, he can get a quality education that allows him to pursue his dreams later in life.

Isn't physical therapy an undergraduate degree? If that's the case, he can go to VCU and his parents don't have to travel to anywhere but Richmond.

Bryce should have an excellent chance to be a starter for UR in his freshman year. For at least 3-4 reasons.
First, if Khwan were to leave, then there is a very good chance UR will move Nick or Buck to the 2-G (2) position, and that totally opens up the power forward spot.
Second, other schools that Bryce may be looking at probably do not have the "perfect timing" of a very likely "open spot" at power-forward for Bryce. It should also be clear that UR is willing to start a freshman, since we started two this past season, from Game 1.
Third, playing for UR would make it much easier for family members (including Grant) to watch Bryce play, and provide support, and
Fourth, playing with Grant would likely be a lot of fun and would likely help make both players better. They know each other well enough (after years of playing together) to "assist" each-other (via inside passing) regularly. The end-of-season stats for both Grant and Bryce should improve due to this familiarity factor.

The last two "pluses" (and likely 3 of 4) will apply only if UR is the final destination.

Bite your tongue Benedict Arnold!! Lol

I certainly wasn't suggesting that he go to VCU, merely that he might be exploring this type of opportunity.

Please don't ever call me a Benedict Arnold even in jest, I'm about as patriotic as one can get.

Rick, it certainly was in jest.

PT used to be an undergrad degree, but now you have to get a Doctorate of physical therapy, which is a graduate degree.

And the number one reason to come to the University of Richmond? It would "make our day" for innumerable message board posters of whom I include myself...............
