So, we win a big road game. Where's the celebration on this message board? Come on guys. You are quick criticize when the Spiders lose. Let's celebrate this victory. Great job, Coach Mooney! Great job players! On to GW!!! Go Spiders!!!

Ulla - I hope your being sarcastic. Lets be honest - this was not a BIG road game. It was a good win, and one - if we were on the bubble - that would not help our cause, but simply keep us in the hunt. But truth is - we are barely on the NIT bubble, maybe even the CBI bubble. Its Feb. 19 - and we have 2 road wins. Not much to celebrate here.

Looking at the rest of our schedule - very good chance we finish right around .500 (maybe one game above or below). Even if we win out the rest of the season - we still only get to 19-12, again - nothing to go crazy about this was once considered an NCAA year for us.

Saving grace for this season - VCU win. Lets beat them at home and at least say we swept them in the regular season. Other than that - we are just getting ready for spring football and next basketball season.

There was a huge celebration but no one could see it, the internet was down.

I'm still waiting on visual evidence to confirm the victory.

Ulla is right, we just beat Bona with a 133 RPI! Awesome. And no more flirting with .500, we are now 14-12! Don't worry we can't beat Mason or Madison on the road, let's celebrate another year of mediocrity.

Seriously though, when its late February and your team is hoping to be in the NIT discussion, its bad. I'm happy we won, but its difficult to get too excited when we are nowhere near where we should've been. Too many missed opportunities and its basically all about RPI game and A10 tourney now

Our RPI back in top 100, a step forward. It is odd you can have a power ranking of 105 beat a team (albeit away) with a power ranking of 139 and move up to 88? For me there is too much weight on how your past opponents are doing and not enough on how you are doing. Past Opponents is a one game measure and who remembers what extraneous issues were involved in the outcome, where your own play is a season.

I'm with Ulla. Way too much negativity on this board. We just beat a team at their place that has wins over VCU, at Davidson and at UMass. Sure, not a great team, but not a bad team either.Plus, we did it without Nelson-Adoda. Look, can't change the past so let's celebrate the present. I especially like the way that we won; big lead at the half, withstand a Bonnies run and win going away. Way to go guys.

I believe the celebration is scheduled for the end of the season when we officially unveil our Kenpom Top 75 banner from the rafters. If you missed the last 3 years banner unveilings, you sure are missing one heck of a party and celebration. I am aiming to be one of the few lucky ones to hoist Coach Mooney on my shoulders to carry him off the Robins Center court to the adoration of the tens of fans.

Any win this team gets on the road is a very good win. Bona is a team much like us, and we swept them by a total of 34 points. Not bad. I guess we are a bad matchup for them, but I am not complaining. I was surprised that we won this convincingly on the road.

The takeaway for me was that this is what happens when we have legit scoring threats at 4 or 5 spots at any given time. Not sure where that kind of game from Taylor has been hiding out all year, but it was great to see. Or hear. If he could hit even one three a game and convert a bucket or two in the post every night, defenses have to pay attention to him, and that opens things up for other guys. I don't think it's any surprise that we put 5 guys in double figures in part because of this. They couldn't just focus on one guy, because we could beat them from anywhere on the floor.

Happy they won, but it's hard for the board to get too excited because every time we see a glimmer of hope (see VCU game), disappointment seems to follow. This year has been a roller coaster for sure, and unfortunately not the most pleasant kind for those of us with high expectations.

Not a big game...ok. St Bona was tied with us and had already beat VCU and GW. Big road win that we needed.

I don't think DT scored in the second half either, although it was probably his best game as a Spider.

Go Spiders!!

DT had a trip to the foul line with 13 seconds to go in the game. Went 1 of 2.

Anyone notice that in the last 2 minutes, when we assumed the opposing team would need to foul, that our strategy was for DT to stand and dribble near mid court?

Even more interesting was SBU's strategy not to foul anyone until a bit later.

As a 26 for 52 (.500) free throw shooter, I would dive on him every time he touched the ball at the end of the game.

Guess you mean celebrating our second road win, certainly not the season. Have we ever had such a season where we've had so many close losses? Makes even more frustrating knowing that we are in it but can't win it.

We may want to win 8 or 9 more games before we start playing Kool and the Gang. :)

Physician, that would be nice. I'd DT is really a .400 3 point shooter, then he won't miss the rest of the year!!

Hey, if we could just get 10 pts combined from DT and TD, then we'd have a shot at winning down the stretch. Just think of all those games where we lost by 6 pts or less and those guys barely scored a point. Unfortunately, GW is a tough matchup for us and has been for past 3 seasons. Let's hope our guys are energized from the start, and wouldn't mind seeing some press and pushing the tempo just to throw GW off balance a little.

I rooting for DT and TD every game, and agree if they could establish some type of scoring presence we would be a really tough team. Problem is their mechanics are so deeply flawed, I don't see them ever being a consistent scoring option for us.

Yes DT has to score because he iwill be playing many minutes and it can not be empty.\ I think. I agree if he is scoring this is key now, not just yes that is so nice you are scoring but you MUST score for us to win. This is a new time for you DT

Look what a game of breaking out did for Shanwdres
confidence. Article up in the RTD about it. Wondering if the same could
happen for Deion after the Bonny breakout. We could really use it.

I'm sorry, but 3-7 shooting is a breakout game? And as for Taylor and Davis getting 10 points per game, how many shots and possessions will that take? If they're shooting, that means someone else isn't taking the shot. I would prefer the good shooters be taking the shots. And when Taylor and Davis get fouled shooting, unfortunately it's like a turnover for us.
